Elkin's Folly
Elkin's Folly is a vast marble archway that once divided kingdoms. Named after the Emperor Elkin Kolichev II, last of his name, this huge gate was once called Elkin's Pride. Its vast iron gates weighed thousands of tons and could have stopped armies in their tracks. They were carved with reliefs of the Empire's history, showing thousands of years of glory.
Today, Elkin's Folly lies in ruins. The gateway still stands, but the gates have long since been torn from their hinges, leaving naught but rusted hinges behind. Words are etched into both sides of the arch, in an ancient language. It reads:
Behold the glory of man. This is the monument of Elkin Kolichev, second of his name, his royal majesty of the Kolichev Empire, ruler of the Heartlands and beyond. Let the enemies of this great land break upon these gates like the waves on the alabaster cliffs, for the defenses of our homeland are impenetrable and resolute. Long Live the Empire! Long Live the Emperor!Elkin's Folly separates the Demon Wastes from the Deep Marsh.
