Rod of Uriah

Major Artifact (Armonia)

Crafted by the only Class V healer in Armonian history, Uriah, who sacrificed his life in the act of creating it. The Rod was imbued with his life force and the essence of his healing power, making it an artifact of immense and singular importance to the Armonian people. It is the only known Artifact created without a SparkTap and, as such, has become a tool of much debate amongst Technos. Some believe that the creation Artifacts resides more in the willingness to give up one's life rather than The SparkTap itself. It is one of only 3 known Artifacts created from a Class 4 or 5 Sparkmage.

Artifact Powers:

The Rod of Uriah grants the ability to heal massive amounts of people at once, capable of restoring entire cities to health after devastating battles or natural disasters.

Massive Healing: Wounds that would otherwise be fatal or disfiguring can be healed on a city-wide scale. The casting is limited only by the immense focus and stamina the user must have to maintain it—it is taxing even for a powerful mage.

Permanent Sacrifice

The Rod of Uriah is unique amongst Artifacts as it comes with a deep cost: the user’s life force is drained with each activation, rendering it a near-religious experience for the Armonians. The Rod is only usable by SparkMages which sets it apart from other Artifacts as well. When Uriah used the rod, his life force was drained, and thus, its use is viewed as both a blessing and a sacred responsibility.

Control and Restriction

The Rod is controlled by the ruling council of Armonia, and its use is highly restricted. Only trusted healers and members of the ruling council are allowed to wield it and only in the event of catastrophic crisis, such as a plague or a city-wide disaster. Use of the Rod is considered a sacred act—the person wielding it is often viewed as a living embodiment of Uriah's spirit and legacy.

Political Implications

The Rod of Uriah serves as a tool of immense political leverage. If a foreign nation were to gain control of it, they could potentially reshape the power dynamics of the world. Some factions believe that the Rod’s power could tip the balance of war in their favor, making it a prime target for those who seek to manipulate or control Armonia. It also provides Armonia with the ultimate bargaining chip. Countries, cities, and peoples would trade much for the recovery offered by the Rod when faced with pestilence or martial annihilation.
