In Sangrithar, magic is in your blood. The Spark—the innate ability that every family carries. Only those born of the Spark have the ability to wield magical power naturally. The ability is passed down through generations. While every family has a Bloodline, the strongest and most powerful families specialize in different magical abilities. The most prestigious bloodlines have rarer and more potent Sparks, which they guard fiercely, often mixing their blood with other families to strengthen their magical abilities. In Sangrithar, the next most powerful mage rests in the potential unions of these ancient Bloodlines -- or perhaps the introduction of new ones.
How the Spark Works:
Every family has its own type of magic tied to their ancestral Spark. Families might have control over nature, wield incredible healing arts, or specialize in forbidden and banned necrotic power. The Spark is passed from parent to child, and only the firstborn inherits—ensuring that only one heir carries the powerful abilities in each generation.
Magic is not just about power—it’s about bloodline and family legacy. If someone has the Spark, they are considered part of the ruling class, even if their magic is weaker than others. Those without the Spark are considered Unsparked and relegated to lower positions in society.
