Technos

Birth of the Technos

In the age when Sparkmages ruled Sangrithar as gods among mortals, the Unsparked lived beneath them — not as equals, but as tools and servants under the burdens of labor and military service. Bound by Bloodline hierarchies, the Unsparked were told they could never rise beyond their fate — for magic was inherited, not earned.

But within a handful of isolated enclaves, the Unsparked began to ask a heretical question:
"If we cannot alter the world by magic, can we master it by knowledge?"

What began as curiosity turned to revolution.
Philosophers, architects, mathematicians, and engineers formed secret societies devoted to unmasking the laws that governed their world — the True Equations, the Root Forces, the Unbending Laws of nature beneath the whims of magic.

As generations passed along their hard discovered knowledge, a new class emerged: the Technos.
Their power was not passed down through blood, but built through understanding.

The turning point came with the experiments of the Techno-Mentats deep within the forests of Namwyr . Radical thinkers sought to bridge the two worlds — spark and science.
Through their dark brilliance, the SparkTap was born.

A slender, alchemically-bound machine of spiraled glass, mirrored steel, and pulsating copper. Small enough to fit in the palm of the hand, the SparkTap could do the unthinkable: Extract the Spark from a willing living mage — ending their life — and bind it into an object of power.

Rings that blazed with fire.
Blades that drank life.
Helms that whispered thought.

For the first time in Sangrithar’s history, the Unsparked could wield the power of the Spark — not by birthright, but by choice.

From this moment forward, the world would never be the same.

A Rising Power

As Technos attempt to challenge the magical elite, they are incresasingly embroiled in an arms race to develop powerful technology capable of competing with magic. While there have been successful innovationsartifacts, automated defenses, and anti-magic weapons —there are significant limitations to what technology can achieve in a world ruled by magic. This creates a sense of urgency for Technos. Many are driven by the belief that technological advancement is the key to disrupting the established power structures of Sangrithar. This conflict of ideologies between magic and technology has contributed to escalating tensions, and even open battlefronts between technological forces and magical families.
