A subtle archvillain and prominent member of the Animus Society.

Personal history
Our heroes first became aware of the villain known as Grey when they found the notes of one of his fellows in a dungeon under Kierst Isle. Grey was mentioned in the notes as experimenting with vampires and divine blood.
Several days later, Malakai and his adventuring party arrived in Blotch to locate and destroy the third of the Animus Society dungeons they'd been told of. After much investigation and many false leads, they found their way into the dungeon hidden under the town, and the foes and experiments they faced there made it clear that this was the facility where Grey did his work.
Grey himself, however, was nowhere to be found. The reason for this was just barely discovered in the evening of February 26th, 24 ARL: He had been hiding in plain sight as the town's moneychanger and assayer, Grisbane Hollows. That night, the shapeshifting spy Meyer Tellarch discovered Grey's perfidy and went to confront him at his business. Grey opted to instantly vaporize the spy and teleport away. Unfortunately for Grey, a noise (perhaps his front door slamming) alerted the heroes in the quiet of the night. Othar and Knight went to investigate and were met by a disguised Catalus, bearing the small living ooze that remained of their informant. Tellarch was subsequently able to give the heroes enough information to identify Grey and pursue him to his next location: The Great City of Rael-Aestra.
