Location: Inside Hoth N’dorgor in west central Beorlan
Geography: The volcano of Raugannon stands as a foreboding sentinel in the heart of Hoth N'dorgor a vast depression that sits far below sea level. This grim valley has an eerie reputation as being a malignant source of great evil, as fifty five miles to the south of Raugannon, lies the evil sorcerous black obsidian tower of Gorrais Helevorn. Even farther to the south east, great ominous high black clouds of volcanic ash mark the location of the rumbling ever-erupting Ruinrauko volcano.
This active volcano regularly experiences small eruptions, primarily emitting ash, though a few notable eruptions have spewed forth substantial volumes of molten lava. The most recent major eruption, occurring 182 years ago, lasted for almost six harrowing months as great rivers of lava flowed down the volcano’s flanks and into the surrounding plain. Even during periods of quiescence, Raugannon regularly vents noxious, sulfurous gases from its numerous volcanic fumaroles. Large yellow sulfur crystals can often be found near these areas.
One sinister Turoch tribe worships this malevolent volcano, regularly sacrificing prisoners by hurling them into fumaroles on the slopes, where they meet a gruesome end. They frequently patrol the area on horseback looking for sacrificial victims.
Geography: This great volcano sits in a great despoiled valley.

Climate: The area around Raugannon is a harsh tropical desert climate. The incessant unforgiving heat, with scorching temperatures that persist year-round, make daytime exposure to the relentless sun perilous. Rainfall, a rare occurrence, produces an arid air that produes a choking dust filled air with the slightest breeze.
Wildlife: The barren, lifeless surface of Raugannon is the result of centuries of eruptions and the release of deadly gases, rendering it inhospitable to flora and fauna alike. The areas formed from cooled lava contain a sprawling network of treacherous lava tunnels, many hiding just under the surface. One misstep by an unwary traveler may lead to a dangerous fall through the brittle crust, causing great injury.
Humanoids: Humanoids do not live on the sides of this volcano due to the ever present danger.
Monsters: Horrendous extraplanar monsters are rumored to suddenly appear on the volcano's upper slopes. Legends say the the volcano harbors a gate that leads to the abyss and allows creatures from that infernal land to cross over into this land.
History: Raugannon, an ancient and ominous volcano that experienced a cataclysmic explosion during the Great Cataclysm, left behind a colossal chasm. Over time, frequent eruptions of lava and ash have constructed a towering, 820-foot conical volcano that looms ominously above the valley. Folklore associates Raugannon with demons, with legends suggesting that prior to the Great Cataclysm, it harbored a portal gate to the abyss, earning it a malevolent reputation.
Today: The evil reputation of this volcano leads to few who are willing to brave its slopes. However, tales say that the gateway to the abyss is still active today.
