Location: Southern Beorlan

Geography: The formidable Gre'larr Escarpment stands as a sentinel at the juncture of Talathtarr and Taa, an indomitable geographical feature sculpted by the violent throes of the Great Cataclysm. Carved from durable unyielding red sandstone, the escarpment's sheer rock cliffs rise resolutely from plateau of Taa between 400 to 950 feet to the high plains of Talathtarr.

Entry to the high plains of Talathtarr from below is a dangerous endeavor via a steep winding trail in the southeast. Always a treacherous path, it is not to be attempted except by the most determined and skillful of travelers. The remainder of the Gre’larr Escarpment presents nearly a complete barrier to north-south movement, as traversing the escarpment's treacherous steep rocky cliff faces demands the skillful use of technical climbing skills.

Climate: The climate along the long expanse of the Gre’larr Escarpment is temperate in nature. Winters are cool but often punctuated by winter chills. Light snowfall sometimes accompanies these events, but it never sticks around long. From mid fall to late spring the area receives regular rainfall. From early spring the temperature steadily rises, until summer becomes a time of great heat with only brief sporadic showers.

Wildlife: Today, the tumultuous shaking of the past has ceased, and the stability of the earth has returned making the escarpment safe for wildlife. The Gre'larr Escarpment provides a tranquil home to many species of cliff nesting birds such as rock doves and falcons.

Humanoids: The high plains of Talathtarr, covered with expansive areas of grasslands, serves as the home of the nomadic Sareisi people who often visit the escarpment.

Monsters: Rumors tell tales of dangerous cave dwelling creatures lurking on the escarpment. Many believe they are abominations that found a way to traverse the escarpment long ago.

History: A product of cataclysmic upheaval, the escarpment's genesis is rooted in Talathtarr's tumultuous ascent. Prior to this time, Taa and Talathtarr were a part of the plains of Palanlad. In a sucession of massive destructive earthquakes that spanned many months, the land of Talathtarr rose inexorably upward, birthing the imposing Gre'larr Escarpment in the process.

Today: A relic of an ancient upheaval, the Gre’aa Escarpment weaves geography, history, and life together in a tapestry of formidable beauty, imposing challenges, and hidden mysteries. These great tall pillars and cliffs of bright red sandstone stand as vigilant sentinels, overlooking the expansive grass filled plateau of Taa below. Yet, amidst the physical grandeur of Gre’larr lie hidden enigmas and dangers. The escarpment's nooks and crannies may hold secrets, as rumors of hidden caves and tales of unique and dangerous inhabitants whisper through the winds. Through time and upheaval, the Gre'larr Escarpment stands as a testament to nature's enduring power and ability to adapt to cataclysmic trauma.
