Location: Central Beorlan

Geography: The vast expanse of Palanlad stretches across the heart of Beorlan, a land of diverse geography and climates. Its topography encompasses rolling plains, grass covered hills, and scattered lowlands. The majority of Palanlad is characterized by gently undulating grasslands, where wind whispers through the tall, swaying grasses. These plains are vast and cover an enormous expanse.

Primary Population: Ranfaroth
Secondary Population: Sareisi
Minor Population: Garuun, Herukh

Climate: In the north, a temperate climate prevails with cool winters and plentiful rainfall during the winter. Summers are hot and dry, punctuated by occasional thunderstorms, some of which can be quite violent. The southern reaches of Palanlad are subtropical with warmer temperatures and less frequent rainfall. This gives rise to a savanna landscape in the south, with short grasses and sparse trees.

Wildlife: Palanlad's predator-prey dynamics paint a vivid picture of the land's primal essence. The plains are home to magnificent herds of antelopes, wildebeests, and gazelles that roam freelyIn the northern grasslands, sleek leopards blend with the swaying grasses, hunting agile antelopes and gazelles. Crafty jackals navigate the terrain, seeking opportunities among the smaller inhabitants. In the southern savanna, the apex predators are joined by cunning hyenas, their laughter echoing through the night. Above, the open skies are graced by large flights of migratory birds passing through the grasslands on their way to their seasonal homes. Fierce eagles and opportunistic vultures soar the skies, looking for their next meal, as long-legged herons stalk minnows the shores of watering holes.

Humanoids: The great migratory herds of antelopes and gazelles are followed by the nomadic Ranfaroth tribes. These centaurlike beings are believed to have been humans transformed by the Great Cataclysm's chaos storms. They live in portable yurts that allow easy movement as they travel with the grazing herds, always striving to live in harmony with nature. Suspicious of outsiders but rarely hostile, they traverse their territory harmonizing with the land.

Contrasting the Ranfaroth's nomadic harmony, the southern part of Palanlad harbors the fearsome Turoch, a gorilla-like humanoid race. Once human members of the Turochian Khanate, the effects of chaos storms eternally corrupted them over a millenia ago. These ill tempered and warlike humanoids reside near the base of the Kraguk Mountains in canyon mazes. From here these chaotic barbarians, known for their skills as master horsemen, send forth large ruthless raiding parties.

Monsters: Griffons and giant eagles bring sudden attacks from the sky to creatures who fail to keep proper watch on their surrounding.

History: The Great Cataclysm had limited physical impact on Palanlad's terrain, but it devastated its human populations. The nomadic human tribes that once adorned the plains were decimated by the chaos storms. The majority of the suvivors found themselves terribly corrupted as they transformed into the Ranfaroth and Turoch.

Today: Palanlad's resilient landscape stands as a testament to the enduring forces of nature, while the Ranfaroth and Turoch serve as living echoes of a cataclysmic event, that reshaped the destiny of the plains dwelling humans.
