History/Ascension:

Little is known about her childhood, other than the fact that she was raised in a temple of Iilea with her twin sister Jelligul. The story of her adult life, she was well known across numerous nations as the most beautiful player of the kayagum not just in her appearance, but also in her ability to play. Her beautiful playing and her physical charm, grace, and beauty made her the desire of many people. Faltala knew this and would at times use this to her advantage to gain an audience with nobility for better pay for her playing. She would travel from the smallest villages to the largest capitals, making her way from one place to another. Over time her fame outgrew her and it was not uncommon to arrive in a new city or town and the people there would have already heard of her and her playing. The years went by and her fame and her beauty did not diminish at all.   Faltala was asked to play a monarch's theater that he had built specifically for this event. She was placed at the center of a large round building, with risers encompassing her so everyone could see her, they rose no less they 3 stories above ground and another 2 stories below the ground so the sound would echo throughout the amphitheater. People had come from all around the kingdom, everyone from a field worker, the king's servant staff, and monarchs and dignitaries from the next kingdom over.   The entire place was illuminated by candles and torches and a large single bullseye lantern trained right on Faltala and her kayagum. This was to be the height of her life and her career, in her heart of hearts she knew that this was the pinnacle moment. Everything she had worked for, everything she had strived to achieve came to this exact moment in time and she not only knew it but felt it in every fiber of her being. During her performance, no one noticed that the torches to illuminate the lower tiers were ill-placed to the upper tiers. The combined heat from the torches started the bottom of the upper tiers floors start to smolder and eventually and violently burst into flame. Since the entire structure was made from the timbers once the ceiling of the bottom tier started to burn, there was nothing to stop it. Panic set in immediately and since there were only grand carved double wooden doors for the exit, the panic between the licking flames from below and the wedge of people trying to get out, there was no getting away fast enough. Faltala being at the very bottom of this now flaming pit, climbed and clawed, people jammed at the doorway, on the stairs up, the flames eventually catching people, burning, screaming, a woman pushed Faltala from behind, shoving her burning clothes through the double door just as the flames started licking out of the top of the door and the deafening sound of timbers splintering and breaking, scream from inside and then the entire building caving in on itself, the only screams now were from the people outside, the conflagration could be seen for above the trees and for miles around.   The last thing she remembered was feeling her skin burning and then...darkness. Faltala woke up, her body wracked with pain, over some time the pain from her body subsided but the pain from hearing the screams and knowing that someone forfeited their life to save hers was still fresh as if it were the same day. Months passed, the passing of time seemed to forget her and the days blurred one into the other, night and day just passed her by. There was only a single room, the door locked from the outside, and a single window towards the top of the room, so the morning sun would shine directly on her every day. Her body was bandaged from head to toe, occasionally someone would come in, check her bandages, change them, and then leave. Speaking seemed impossible for Faltala, attempts at making sound were just as painful as the rest of her body. The woman that came to her room would say nothing, but simply check her bandages, change those that needed to be changed, and bring her tepid broth and soothing teas. More time passed and on one chilly morning, a different woman came to her room. As soon as she entered the room, Faltala had the feeling that something was outstanding about this person, the way she carried herself, the air of calm and serenity about her, and even the air around her seemed to be still and calm. “Faltala, it's time to remove your bandages for good, I will warn you the cool morning air will grab your breath from your lungs but it will subside quickly”, said the calming woman. As the bandages came off, she was right, the air on her bare skin slowly climbing up her body from ankle to neck. It was a completely new sensation, she completely did not realize that she was no longer in pain, it had become so much a part of her waking moments that it faded so quietly that she didn't realize it until the air hit her skin.....

    Divine Domains

    Beauty

    Artifacts

Faltala has created a mirror that is both a benefit and a bane depending on who uses it and how it is used. This mirror when used no more than once per day. The more adornments, makeup, and even facial changes that are shown in the mirror the more defects (lines, wrinkles, scars, scrapes, etc) will show up. If a face that is completely unadorned or with just basic flowers, the mirror will show the face in the best possible light and even with a slight glow, as if being shown in candlelight. However, if the mirror is used more than once per day, it will slowly take over the user of the mirror, causing them to always see imperfections in everything they see, colors will be muted, their face will appear to be slowly sagging and no matter what lighting or setting they are in. The mirror will also slowly take over their minds, compelling them to constantly “check themselves” in the mirror, over and over. Eventually, this will turn into the holder of the mirror not wanting to look at anything else or wanting to let it go, expressing the fact that they see the most beautiful image ever created in the mirror and they don’t ever want to lose it.
