Belúb-Ýïr

The Tribe of Belúb-Ýïr was one of 32 such Ýïr that fought in the Crisis of 24982 AYM and the Khólteðian Wars. It was one of fourteen tribes of the Arðor-Kýï, who were each defined by their desires to take advantage of the power vacuum within the Khólteð Family to suit their own personal desires. For Belúb-Ýïr, these personal desires constituted the ascension of Belš-Aŋuýb, a prominent figure within the Family, to the position of Hyvamto-Žö-Ýšïb, or Head of the Family. This individual had ties to both the Arðor-Tal and Arðor-Úŋï, and was supported by a substantial portion of the populace. However, the interim government, the Ïlðúš-Ýïr, would not allow this to occur. These two tribes would fight against each other as well as against other pretenders to the throne in the subconflict known as the Kýïan Wars.

History

Prelude

The Crisis, as well as the central figure Bélš-Aŋuýb, has its roots in the actions of a Khólteðian known as Öhr-Fëkahr, who began committing Ýyorhïsïb with members of other families in around 25100 AYM. This was a direct violation of tribal law, but Öhr-Fëkahr's actions coincided fortuitously with the first of a series of periods, during which an abnormally large amount of nature disasters pummelled the tribe. With their hands busy, the rest of the Khólteð Family did not discover Öhr-Fëkahr's crimes until 25080 AYM, and subsequently, this group would be known as the Fýr-Hŋýtor, or Corrupted, and relegated to two specially-designated areas called the Krëšŋ-Ðórr and the Khëlër-Ðórr. This would begin a period of widespread ostracization of the Fýr-Hŋýtor carried out by Rithas, the Hyvamto-Žö-Ýšïb at the time, and his successor Týyšat.

However, this period from 25100 to 25032 AYM (also known as the Ýmor-Šapariž) was also one marked with widespread political and social upheaval, and as a result, birth rates all across the tribe fell dramatically. Nonetheless, the Fýr-Hŋýtor, who were blocked off from all tribal communication, continued growing at the normal rate. By 25015 AYM, they made up 10% of the entire Khólteðian population. That year, they rallied around Žúž-Akëð, who began calling for a more militant approach to combatting the mistreatment suffered at the hands of the Family. One of his main goals was to create a powerful army, capable of rivaling the main Khólteðian army, for the purposes of taking over the family government for themselves. It is also around this time that Belš-Aŋuýb would have been born within the Fýr-Hŋýtor (his double-barreled name is typical of Hŋýtian names traditions), or perhaps taken as an infant during an early Hŋýtian skirmish.

Sometime between 25015 and 24982 AYM, Bélš-Aŋuýb as a young adult would return back to the non-Hŋýtian land. This dual experience in both the Hŋýtian and non-Hŋýtian ways of life would be the main reasoning behind his later campaign and the creation of the Bélub-Ýïr tribe.

Crisis of 24982 AYM

Main Article: Crisis of 24982 AYM

The Crisis of 24982 AYM was a period of intense conflict within the Khólteð Family, beginning upon the death of Týyšat with the abduction of his successor Šïk-hórom by the Fýr-Hŋýtor. At its core, this pitted the Fýr-Hŋýtor, who by now had renamed themselves the Arðor-Tal, and another portion of the Family known as the Arðor-Úŋï. This Arðor-Úŋï was characterized by the opposite goal of the Arðor-Tal, namely the reestablishment of Šïk-hórom as the Hyvamto-Žö-Ýšïb. Concurrent the conflict between these two sides, a third faction called the Arðor-Kýï emerged. Unlike the other two, this third faction was not united by a single ideology or belief, but was made of disparate groups amining to take advantage of the power vacuum within the Family to suit their own desires. The multifaceted subconflict of these may different Kýïan tribes are summed up in what historians dubb the Kýïan Wars. These Kýïan Wars are split into phases, and each such phase was fought in different places and for different reasons.

One of these such groups was Bélub-Ýïr, who wanted to install their leader Bélš-Aŋuýb as the new Head of the Family. Although well-known nowadays and throughout the later stages of the Crisis, Bélš-Aŋuýb did not gain much traction until around halfway into the conflict. As such, Bélub-Ýïr is formally classified as one emerging in the Second Phase of the Crisis. Characteristic of tribes in this second phase was the occurrence of fighting near the Head Palace, or Ëzó-Rhažóval, between various Kýïan Tribes, among them the non-Kýïan but instead Úŋïan tribe of Ïlðúš-Ýïr; this was the interim government assigned to maintain order and protect the Palace while actual governmental figures like Rëžýnð and Lŋórak were busy fighting the Úŋïans. Bélub-Ýïr, one of many pretenders to the throne, would mainly fight other Kýïan tribes; there are theories that Ïlðúš-Ýïr actually signed a pact with Bélub-ÝÏr to jointly protect the Palace. However, what is certain is that, due to their service, Bélub-Ýïr was given desirable land at the coast when the Family was resettling in the Tayzem Region.
