Tréor Mirrad
Lord Tréor Mirrad
"[...] and just why you envy him. When you - or any other peasant - make a mistake, barely anyone notices. But when a nobleman like him makes a mistake, that can affect the lives of everyone within their domain. You live a simple, but free life, while nobles live in wealth , true, but theirs is a life of responsibility and accountability. And the gods know, Tréor Mirrad has it worse than most." - overheard in a tavern
Almost all people can agree on that building up success from scratch is an admirable thing. Be it a renowned guild or a wealthy noble house, it is always the founder who receives praise from the people. But as time goes on, even the strongest organizations eventually falter, rarely do they find their way back to glory. And it takes someone equally talented and hard-working just as the founder, to guide them back to glory.
The hallian
Minor House Mirrad was never condidered a wealthy family, still their house seen better days before the war. With the old lord missing and no other eligible heir, it falls to the young lord Tréor to rebuild his house.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
No one outside House Mirrad has blue eyes in the far south. This makes them stand out almost everywhere they go.
Apparel & Accessories
Although a lord, Tréor never wears fancy clothes. He is often seen in a simple tunic with simple boots, without accessories either.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Tréor was born the second child to the current head of House Mirrad. He has one older sibling, Liliána Mirrad . As the eldest male heir, he was always meant to inherit the title of Lord. From birth, he was trained to fight, since the civil war was already raging in Hallia. His training left little time to formal education in governing, which later came back to haunt him.
As a child, he was impatient and always angry, sometimes managin to deplete the almost infinite patience of Liliána. At the age of sixteen, Tréor was sent to accompany his father on Great House Tyrral's campaign against Great House Morwen. Tréor rarely took part in the melee fighting, often standing back with the archers. Sometimes the enemy broke through and he had to fight and kill up close, which left the mark on the young soul. In the camp he befriended the other noble boys, most importantly Lunir Tyrral, the son of Lord Tyrral.
When Morwen made a pact with the rebelling houses, both Tréor and Lunir were called back home to watch over their estates, while the current lords oversaw the signing and the last attack against the old royal house, the Great House Missar.
While at home, the pair's friendship deepened with regular visits to each other. During those visits Tréor noticed, how Lunir and Liliána started to develop feelings for each other. And he was happy for them. For one, they seemed to be perfect for each other, but also a marriage between them would put House Mirrad in the best political position it has ever been in. During this time, Tréor's focus started to shift from weapons and warfare to politics.
Both Tréor and Liliána expected their father back(their mother died long ago), but as time went on without news about him, Tréor eventually had to take charge of the house and put things in order, since the house - despite Liliána's best efforts - was in shambles, much like the whole kingdom after the decades of infighting. But Tréor would soon learn that the real challenges awaited him after he took charge...
Education
Tréor is an adept fighter with shortsword and shield not less so with the spear. His bowmanship is also quite impressive.
He is able to read and write, but otherwise doesn't have much in the way of formal education. Lawmaking, and enforcing, sitting in judgement, building and maintaining alliances and economic studies were largely skipped over.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Surviving the civil war is an accomplishment in and of itself, not many young nobles can claim the same. But other than that, Tréor haven't had the time or the opportunity to achieve anything noteworthy.
Mental Trauma
With seeing only war for most of his life Tréor is always on edge. Even in time of peace, he can only see threats wherever he looks. The fact that the whole future of House Mirrad rests on his shoulders doesn't help either.
Intellectual Characteristics
Hasty and boarish, Tréor was never considered much of an intellectual. On the battlefield he can keep his calm long enough to survive, but outside he is often ruled by emotions. He is capable of kindness though.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Tréor wants nothing more than to lead his house to glory. All of his actions are to this end.
Likes & Dislikes
Tréor enjoys all sorts of physical competitions, like practice fighting, archery competitions or horseracing. Mainly because he wins most of the time. Feasts and celebrations are also to his liking.
What he really dislikes is his duties as lord. He finds them boring.
Virtues & Personality perks
His most well-recognized characteristic is his stubbornness. When he sets his mind to something, he will not relent until he sees it done.
Vices & Personality flaws
The other side of that coin is that he often sets the wrong targets. Tréor is ruled by emotions and those lead often to bad decisions, which paired with his stubbornness, can easily end up in tragedy.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Tréor is a close friend to Lunir Tyrral, son of Lord Tyrral. Their friendship goes back to the many battlefields of the war as well as the taverns along the way. After returning home, their friendship only deepened, making the two as close as brothers.
Family Ties
His only family alive is his older sister Liliána and they are close to each other. Liliána was always calmer and smarter than Tréor and he recognises it. Once he became head of the house, he appointed Liliána to be his advisor.
