Great House Missar

"I claim this Land for those who want to be free from tyranny! I clam this Land for those who dare to cross the great desert, who dare to live in a land unknown! I claim this Land for those who afraid not, to lay down their lives in its defense! I laim this land for Us!" - Nahator Missar, founder and first king of Hallia
The founders of Hallia, the noble house of Missar is originated from the land of Shurrah. Former laborers and engineers working on terraforming the desert, the ancestors of the Missars were the best equipped to make the journey across the great desert known as the Deadland. After crossing the desert, the terraformers found a fertile land, yet untouched by human hands. They chose to never return to their homeland.

Structure

House Missar is lead by the king of Hallia. He rules over the whole kingdom, as well as their own lands. He is supported by the Royal Council. The Royal Council is the largest of its kind among the nobility. Its members range from the various officers of House Missar to representatives from the other Great Houses. While they oversee the kingdom and advise the king, the final say belongs to the king. Below them are the rest of the royal family, raised and trained to serve and rule the kingdom. Family members often become officers and sit on the council. Under the family in rank are the house members. Not related to the Missar family, these people are retainers and enforcers employed by the royal family.      Lowest official rank belongs to the servants. Unlike most other noble houses, Missar takes servants officially into their house.

Culture

House Missar kept some of their shurran roots, like expecting total obedience from their subjects or the love for conquest. However, Missars have some traits that are quite uncharacteristic for shurrans, like sharing their wealth.

Public Agenda

The Missars have one goal and one goal alone: to claim the south. For this they would do anything in their power. They invite allies from the north granting them titles and lands in their newfound kingdom in exchange for their help in defending and developing the kingdom. They accept any- and everyone no matter their background. As kind as they were with accepting people into their realm, they were equally as harsh toward anyone who tried wrestling the crown from them, which many later came to know...

History

The first ones to settle in the south weren't adventurers or runaway minor nobles like those who would later arrive. No, the first settlers in the south were a shurran gardener working to terraform the Deadland and his team of engineers and laborers. Many have tried to run away through the desert, but none yet made the crossing. Even they suffered heavy losses along the way.
The gardener, Nahator, was a man of determination and bravery. He never stopped pushing his people forward, even when his young daughter, Hallia, died of fever on the march. Eventually they reached the southern bounds of the desert. Beyond that they saw their dreams come true; fertile lands as far as the eye could see. They chose to settle down there, under the leadership of King Nahator. Calling themselves House Missar, the first royal house of the southern kingdom was born.
The kingdom was named Hallia to commemorate the loss of the king's daughter; and in a wider meaning all who died on the journey here. The noble house of Missar wasted no time in developing the land. Their first settlement, Sunrest, later became the seat of power in the south, until the house's eventual fall. Nahator sent many of his people back north in order to find allies to join them. These allies later became the high nobility of Hallia.
The missarian kings after Nahator had no background in developing land quite like a shurran gardener. This lead to a slowing down in advancement, which coupled with the infighting among the nobility that the kings did nothing about, lead to their allies turning against them. With Great House Riak's attack a decades long civil strife ensued , ending with the eradication of House Missar alongside several minor noble houses.

Disbandment

The last king of House Missar died on the field of battle by the hand of Martin Riak, then head of House Riak. He later gave the order to kill the remaining Missars, most of them mere children. With no Missar left, Martin took the throne, ending the line of missarian kings forever.
DISBANDED/DISSOLVED

Ours Is The South

The crest of Hallia shows the Deadland, the desert to the north of the kingdom and the sun rising above it. This simple symbol is meant to represent the new beginning the land promises to the brave few who dares to cross the desert.
