Liliána Mirrad
Lady Liliána Mirrad (a.k.a. Lili)
"[...] he was so angry, he didn't even realised that he revealed our one possible ally. And you were so angry, you didn't notice. Now calm down and let's think through our next move." - Liliána to Tréor
Sometimes talented people are born in the wrong time or place. Up north, in the halls of a farumen Grand House, especially during a time of peace, Liliána would have been the treasure of her house, a bride befitting any king. She is calm and smart, could easily outwit any man in her age, even many above that. Her modest and smiling nature could endear her to pretty much anyone. And even if many a young man could care less about all of that compared to how a girl looks, Liliána's slender figure, long dark hair and pretty face would still capture their hearts.
Liliána however was not born in the north and certainly not in a time of peace. She just so happened to be the firstborn of a minor noble far to the south, at the beginning of a decades long civil war. The war and destruction that surronded her slowly eroded her frail soul to the point where she no longer believed in her own strengths. Instead of great banquets and lines of suitors, her lot in life was loneliness, depression and a loss of all hope in life.
Until one day...
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Blue eyes were a rare condition this far south. Only House Mirrad members had eyes like that, including Liliána.
Apparel & Accessories
Most of the time she wore black dresses, emphasezing the grief she felt for her family. Her dresses were lightly adorned, befitting minor nobility.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
She saw the world for the first time just months before Great House Riak made their first move against the old noble houses. Liliána was the first child of the lord of Minor House Mirrad
. Born at just the beginning of the first major conflict of the fledgeling kingdom Hallia, this warring would come to dominate the rest of her life.
She was a quiet child, obedient to her superiors and kind towards her underlings, making her parents proud. When she was four years of age, her brother was born. Most of the time Liliána was patient with the unruly Tréor, but sometimes they do ended up in an argument. As sibling usually do. As they both grew older, these arguments stopped, they both realised that at least their family has to be united as the kingdom falls ever deeper into infighting. Eventually Tréor and his father had to leave for the war, leaving Liliána and her mother - who started to show signs of sickness - home.
Letters from the front were few and far between. As her mother's sickness got worse, Liliána's outlook at life slowly worsened. Her mood spiraled deeper into loneliness and depression. Out of her family, she was the only one who were there at her mother's funeral, and with barely any news from her brother and father, Liliána felt as if she was alone in the whole world. She did her best to keep House Mirrad in order, but that task was hard enough for an experienced nobleman, let alone a lonely teenager. Some days she couldn't even get out of bed. Her servants were there for her, true, but they couldn't replace the family. The family she lost. Or at least she thought so.
One day, however, Tréor returned from the war. Five years, the siblings had not seen each other and those five years left their marks on both of them. Liliána was now a frail soul, who gave up on hope in life. Tréor on the other hand was a much more mature individual. The personal glory-seeking and thirst for battle of his younger years vanished in the bloody conflicts of the war, he now cared only for his family and house. Liliána, for the first time in many years, felt hope again for a better future.
After his return, Tréor refused to take over the house at first, he only helped out with military and law enforcement duties. While Liliána expected more from him, even that was a huge weight off of her shoulders. Tréor also held feasts where he invited many of his friends from war, who were also sent home. One of those friends being the son of Lord Tyrral, Lunir. Him and Liliána fell for each other almost immediately when they met.
After a while with no news from their father, Tréor decided to step up and take the mantle of lord and Liliána was more than happy to assist him in every way she thought possible. During that time Lunir promised her they would get wed. She finally felt that she had a family again. Things could only get better from here. Right?
Education
Liliána was educated just like any noble lady in the south. She was taught the history of her house and the short history of Hallia. A noblewoman's duties in Hallia includes organizing the servants and housekeepers, and raising the noble children. Also they have to learn some sort of art, most popular being singing and playing the harp. Liliána was taught all of that along with painting, horseriding, knitting and sewing. Unique among noblewomen, Liliána also learned archery.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Surviving the lonely years while she waited for her brother to return can be an achievement on its own. The fact, that she managed to keep her house somewhat organized only adds to that. No great feats were associated to women at the time and she knows that. Doing her part to the best of her ability was always enough for her.
Failures & Embarrassments
Her biggest embarassement was that she reached 25 years of age without getting married. At the time women - especially those of noble blood - were married off much younger than that. However, when the men were busy dying in a needless war, not many cared about raising a family.
Mental Trauma
The time spent taking care of her sickly mother and the lonely years after that left their mark on the young girl's soul. Liliána cares little for hope, expecting her life and death to be meaningless. Some days she is so low mentally, that she doesn't leave her bed at all.
Intellectual Characteristics
Liliána was always quiet and observant. She learned to listen and speak only once she had thought through everything. She is also intelligent and cunning, so when she did speak, her words carried a lot of weight usually being the best possible solution for a problem.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
For a long time, even she doesn't know what kept her going. During the lonely years of the war, she gave up on hope of ever seeing her family again. But once Tréor has returned, she felt revived. After that her main priority was to see her brother becoming the best Lord House Mirrad had ever seen. Her secondary motivation was to marry Lunir Tyrral, but a son of such a highly regarded noble family was out of her reach, even though his heart already belonged to Liliána. Both of these goals, however, depended on the same condition: rebuilding House Mirrad into a powerful noble house. Thus, her target was set.
Likes & Dislikes
Liliána loves all sorts of art (painting, music, sculpting, poetry, etc.), both to create and to just enjoys someone else's work. She enjoys social events too, if only to listen to others talking and making jokes.
What she truly hates are the duties of a lord. Usually a woman shouldn't have take those on, but her situation is somewhat unique.
Virtues & Personality perks
Her intelligence is her biggest weapon. She lets others talk and listens until they accidentally reveal their weakness, which she can exploit later. Her mild nature makes her appear not threateing.
Vices & Personality flaws
Her biggest flaw is her shyness. She often refuses take take things into her own hands, leaving the decision-making to others, even though she knows what should be done.

I really like how you set the article up. Definitely a good intro to pull in someone's attention. You get a good sense of the world as well. One suggestion, though I can tell you're writing a world where women have very little agency, I would give her more credit than you do under the Achievements. Everywhere else you hint that she's smart and it sounds like she may have some plans with rebuilding her family, even if she wants her brother to do most of it, but her achievements makes it sound like she just didn't do anything except survive. Keeping the house around is basic survival if you're the only one there to run the show. Even if she won't be recognized for anything because of the culture and her gender, you can still write it in the article. If there's things you're leaving out for spoiler reasons, then you could always add a line about greater things to come. Or something like, "learning to manage these duties she hadn't been trained for because she was a woman gave her the experience/wisdom (whatever fits) to do greater things." Reading about her being cunning after her achievements sound so mundane (at least how you have them written) feels like a disconnect. If she shows her cunning anywhere it should be there. If it was extra difficult because people didn't want to listen to her, then just adding that could be enough. Especially with her tending towards being shy. That means she really had to push herself out of her comfort zones. Overall though, it's a good article, gives a lot of info without being too wordy (which is something I definitely struggle with sometimes, haha). There's also plenty there to lead readers to other articles.
Huhh, thank you for your detailed review! Yes, the fact, that there isn't much about her using her wits in the article itself is largely due to me running out of time towards the end of WE, but I'm planning on eventually circling back to update/finish it. Another reason why I left out these achievements is because I was going for a setup like 'she had all these talents, but not a chance to use them until the events of the book'. But you are right, this article is separate from the book, so it has to be judged on its own merits. Again thank you for the review, you gave me a lot of ideas on where to go on both this article and eventually, my novel.
You're welcome! I can definitely understand running out of time, haha. I have a few of those articles I need to come back around to as well.
