"If I take one of your three guns away, you still have two guns to shoot me with, what's the point?" - Ibrim Inquirer Op-Ed

Following the Fall of Embrel and Desolation of Idiomaris, as well as the unofficial peace forged by Maximilian Vran, Cosima Ghiacciato, and The Firestarters; peace on the continent seemed like a real possibility for a time.   Following the positive overtures, the various powers of Kalin met in Avolen at the behest of Bartek Milatadies and signed the Greater Kalin Disarmament Agreement, which saw the Union, Impero, Dwaav-Torva'Dro Abbanshi, and Kingdom of Aurelia all agree to varying levels of disarmament including limiting air-battleship production and arms production more widely; though the Union and Impero agreed to the greatest cuts. Straka, dealing with the Strakan Civil War, refused the agreement in the moment; but Negus Naji has pledged to abide by the agreement at the conclusion of the civil war. Rhokul Lazulin of The Firestarters was both a major proponent of the agreement, as well as the Union signatory for the agreement alongside Maximilian Vran.   The agreement has been lauded by many, but also critiqued since the Union and Impero particularly still have massive militaries capable of widespread destruction; making the agreement more of a feel good measure than anything substantive.
