Imperatrice of the Impero Cosima Savina Ghiacciato (a.k.a. The People's Princess)
The current Imperatrice of the Impero Tharrisian, Cosima is the next in a long line of Ghiacciato's to rule the Impero since the 5th century of the Third Age.
Cosima came to power after the rather unclear circumstances around the death of her mother, Octavia VI, and her brother Lars in a boating accident off of Singlar. Since coming to power, she has gained a reputation for effective but forceful leadership, having something of a disdain for the "game" of Tharrisian Politics.
Despite this, the people have come to love her for her charming personality and well respected public speaking abilities. She is a known patron of the arts and charity, further increasing her popularity.
For a long time, questions remained about how she would handle the "Union Question." But after the events of Jayllin's Terror and the Desolation of Idiomaris the answer has been one of, surprisingly, "peace." Tensions have cooled considerably between the Union and the Impero with Cosima's leadership. Though this has led her in a lurch, as the martial might of Impero has no target to aim at; at least, for now.
Reign
Cosima has the firm love of the people, and the pushing for arts and research funding in her early reign has helped reinforce this, and has overseen growing peace between the Union and Impero after the two Great Powers nearly ignited full blown war. Though it is speculated she is losing control of the political nature of running the Impero, due to her disdain of the "game" of Tharrisian Politics and the fact that the heavily martial society does not have an enemy to aim itself at.
