Maximilian Vran is the current President of the Federated Union of Eastern Kalin. Hailing from a prestigious family, Maximilian has coasted into office on a wave of change, determined to keep the uneasy peace and balance of power. His largest success on this matter being the Union's participation in the Avolen Conventions just as his first term was beginning.
He has been accused of gaining his position due to his families power, but any who have met him note his undeniable charisma and disarming demeanor. He is well regarded as a talented politician and public speaker, if a bit hard to nail down on real convictions or opinions. He has become one of the Unions most popular presidents in the aftermath of Jayllin's Terror and the growing peace between the Union and Impero.

His biggest, and notable, accomplishment was representing the Union successfully during the Avolen Conventions. Since then, he has become an ever increasingly popular president; in part due to his role in the growing peace between the Union and Impero, but also due to his role in the aftermath of Jayllin's Terror. He was quick to offer humanitarian support to Idiomaris, and when the depth of the conspiracy was revealed he was equally quick to arrest anyone with even a chance of being in service to the ex-Wayfarer. He faced risks in his presidency due to the revealing of CAD-ULTRA, the unethical experimentation that was done against the Dragonborn people of Dracon; but was able to navigate it successfully in no small part due to cooperating with Rhokul Lazulin of The Firestarters. These actions have garnered him the popular title "The Reformer", matching his campaign promises.
Family Ties
Maximilian descends from a prestigious family which hails all the way back to Talina Vran, one of core members of the revolution during the Virnosian Rebellion, and a close friend of the Founder Gareth Pancem.
