The Dwarven Kingdom of Klarthonnon
Spread across the three mountains of Hjolk, Vauv and Vulf, this kingdom encompasses a massive 70% of the Dwarven population.
Structure
While still called a Kingdom, King Warren Lassryl no longer rules. Instead there is a Council elected every century from each clan of miners, smiths, warriors and masons.
While clans do exist, any dwarf can enter any clan by passing a small exam. A dwarf can only change clan once every six months. No non-dwarf can enter a dwarven clan. Being part of a clan precludes you from holding a professional position in the any other clan (i.e. A warrior dwarf can smith but he cannot sell his smithing work). This is the most common reason behind dwarven migration from the city.
The majority of people are miners, emptying the belly of the mountains very slowly. Almost as abundant are smiths, who then turn those materials into jewelry. Warriors are likely the most respected clan and function as a mix of guard and mercenary. Masons are the bones of the kingdom, expanding its reach and cities. Many masons feel they are underpaid.

Culture
A strong focus is placed on work and craftsmanship. There is no discrimination where that is concerned, an intricately crafted diamond locket is given exactly the same amount of respect as a well made cinder block.
Unsurprisingly, the main religion is the Mountainhead Church. The main figure worshipped by the dwarves is Creas, god of creation.
Despite increased attempts at diplomacy in recent millennia, dwarves do not take kindly to outsiders in their kingdom, even if they are more than capable of making friends outside the mountains.

Unkown. Estimated 300 million gold.
History
The dwarves have lived in the kingdom for longer than any of them can individually remember. One of the first diplomatic meetings occurred among Humans travellers where the two species learned each other's languages and ended up forming the Mountainhead church. A long and profitable friendship has endured over the millennia.
Perhaps the most well known conflict was the Stone War (6887-6948) where continued expansion led to all out war with the Elves. While the reported casualties in battle are 20,000, the total death toll of both Dwarven and Elven civilians is estimated in the hundreds of thousands.
After thousands of years and hundreds of kings, the dwarven populace decided that there was one corrupt government too many and started the Dwarven Revolution (7906-7930). The Lassryl royal family endures, but are little more than overpaid tourist attractions, with the council now governing the kingdom.

Education
All dwarven children are taught the basics of the four crafts (mining, smithing, fighting and masonry) with expensive colleges allowing for greater education in each craft.
The standard education lasts thirty years and is needed to pass the exam to join a clan.
