Junglant ('jun-gul-ant')
These six legged brownish black insects are like soldiers marching through the jungle. They have been known to overrun entire villages and towns overnight with swarms. In the woods of Olympus they are known to all as pests. When they bite people, they inject a nerve-damaging venom that renders the victim paralyzed. When you see these bugs marching toward you, run away. Run far away.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Junglants are larger than their cousins, Inferant and Chillant. They are easily twice the size. But then again, some in Olympus say that everything in Olympus is bigger. Perhaps that is true. Junglants are the size of Balthro. They are brownish-black or very dark brown, with six legs and very large pincers.
Biological Traits
Nerve-Toxin Junglants can inject a very potent and deadly venom that damages the nerves of the body and can cause total paralysis in just a few hours. Too much longer than that, it can cause death as it causes the heart to suddenly stop eventually.

Ecology and Habitats
Junglants, perhaps thankfully, are only found in the deepest, densest jungle regions of Olympus. At least for now. There have been a number of occasions where they swarmed small villages in the east of Olympus, in the forests there, and one close call where they almost made it to Evergreen City. The Fey of Olympus consider these Mystimon to be an invasive species.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They appear to be carnivorous primarily, though they will take anything back to the nest. For the most part they seem to favour meat.
Behaviour
Junglants, like their cousins have a swarm mind. But it appears to work on over drive for these Mystimon, for they seem to march through the jungles like an army of soldiers. These soldiers bring food back to the nest for their queen. Though the nest will usually have several queens.
Discovery
From the notes of Doctor Ivan Sanderson.
"The people of Olympus alerted me to the presence of these creatures when I was there looking into the stories of the trees that move, which is another fascinating story for another time. They warned me to stay far away from these insects. I wondered whatever for. So Jane and I traveled deep into the jungles of the Wild region. I tell you now, we should have heeded the warnings. It was foolish to go looking for these things.
What we observed was like an army of soldiers, quite literally, marching through the jungle and overrunning everyone and everything in their path. A young boy was in the path and Jane went to help the boy. She was bitten by one of these things as reward for her trouble. But by the Gods I have never known her to leave a child in a life-threatening situation such as thought. I knew that if she were to do it over, she would do it again.
For days she fought for her life against the venom. If I were not so desperately concerned for the life of a dear close friend I would be truly fascinated by the function of this venom. But Jane was fighting for her life. This was no time to gawk over this. Thankfully the Fey knew of a potion that could save her. However, they were out of a key ingredient, the pollen from a Vargon. Fortunately I knew precisely where and how to find one. I went my self, along with two Fey hunters as backup. Thank the Gods I was able to retrieve the pollen necessary and the Fey were able to mix up the potion and save the life of my dear true friend."
