Dust Vessels

Dust Vessels are very common items used to store and manipulate Dust by mortals. After the introduction of the Shards of Magic, mortals could no longer freely manipulate Ambient Dust. The constraint on their bodies and minds led to the Creation of these vessels.

Made of the Dust infused sands around some of the Eclipse Towers, and Particulum. These Vessels take many forms. The consistent elements are the Dust infused glass set with some amount of Particulum. The Vessel could be made of a variety of materials beyond that, but must at least contain some amount of both of these elements to work properly. The combination of the Dust infused glass and the Particulum allows the Vessel to naturally pull in Ambient Dust over time. The user of the Vessel is attuned to it and maintain a connection that allows the contained Dust to intermingle with the Dust that flows through their body. This allows them to pull from the Vessel safely and manipulate it. Like working a muscle, this takes time to perfect. Those who continue to grow in power tend to exchange their Dust Vessel as their need exceeds the containment of their current Vessel.

Personal Dust Vessels generally will take the form of a necklace, ring, broach, hair pin, or bracelet. Though they can be a charm that hangs from the pommel of a weapon, a gem in their armor, a replacement to a lost eye or tooth. The Vessel does not need to be large generally. Unless the wielder is performing advanced magics, at which point they may require a more intricate or extravagant Vessel.
