Lord Denton Rawley

Lord Denton Rawley is the current head of House Rawley, and a general of the Cesarican military. His established name and military career give him such power that he is second only to General Tarvis William in terms of power within the Cesarican military. He is also a distant cousin of Empress Antient II, giving him a claim to the throne of the Cesarican Empire.  

House Rawley

The Rawleys established themselves as a notable family in the Cesarican empire when Paxton Rawley proved to be an invaluable asset in the skirmishes between Cesarica and Osir in 1673. Paxton Rawley was a noted strategist and was awarded the rank of General as well as the land and title of Baron of Banbury after successfully routing Osir troops in the Battle of Rissen Pass. The barony of Banbury lands lie in the north of Cesarica, near the border with Osir as a nod to the military battles that earned them their title. Since gaining their title, the Rawleys have established themselves as a powerful military family in Cesarica.   Lord Paxton's three sons all joined the military as soon as they were able. The eldest, Layton, was killed in action by Mercavene rebels. Paxton's second son, Denton, took up the family's military mantle with exceptional skill. He quickly made a name for himself as a strategist and a decisive leader. Denton only took time off of his military career for brief moments when his father died and he was named Lord Denton Rawley and later when his wife died. Between this focus and his fraught relationship with his son, Lieutenant Anton, Lord Denton is known to be stoic, stubborn and judgemental.   Deciding to focus more on his military career, Lord Denton has passed most of the managment of the Barony to his younger brother, Colton.  

Claim to be Emperor

After the death of Empress Antient II without an heir, Lord Denton has put forth his own name for ascention to the throne. His claim is a familial one, as his mother, Lady Merith was the daughter of Prince Marcus, the second child of Empress Laurelia IV, Empress Antient II's great-grandmother.
