Mercavene

Mercavene is a small country to the east of Cesarica. Their current government consists of a minister that was put in power by Cesarica. The treaty with Cesarica is a heavy handed document that gives Cesarica almost all of the power in the relationship. As a result, Cesarica as a country takes advantage of the Mercavene citizens, and the Mercavene citizens, in turn, resent the Cesarican hold on their country. Another issue that adds to the tension between Cesarica and Mercavene is the religious difference between the two countries. The most commonly worshiped god in Cesarica, Pelor, is known as the goddess Sarenrae in Mercavene. The split in the church between these two has caused a lot of strife, with the more common followers of Pelor see the followers of Sarenrae as borderline heretical and vice versa.

Geography

Mercavene is a temperate, very rainy country. The climate is usually fairly mild. There a few mountains, but many rolling hills as well as many moors. The majority of the soil is very boggy which makes farming a little more difficult.
