Kaladar
The capital of Cesarica. It is the second largest city in Cesarica and is located across the river Fliss in central Cesarica. As the heart of the empire, it is known for the diversity of its population

Mud Town
In addition to the 13 official districts, most people recognize an unofficial 14th district that is home to the poorest citizens of Kaladar. Most of the ramshackle huts and tents that make up this area are outside the city walls, though the slum extends onto the River Fliss, outside the walls of the city, but within the protection of the Great Gate on the river. The floating mass of improvised dwellings make up the most coveted living spaces within Mud Town, within the relative protection given by the Great Gate, and out of the morass of mud and refuse that makes up the rest of the slum.Notable Locations
Given its political significance and the patronage of a long dynasty of Emperesses, there are several points of interest within Kaladar, including:- Imperial Palace: Located on Valorant's Island, this is the seat of the Cesarican government and the home of the empress.
- The Merchant Bridge: Spanning the river between Greybridge and Southam, this is a massive, three-storey bridge that hosts scores of both permanent shops as well as a regular parade of kiosks and peddlers. The top level houses the most expensive shops, with prices and quality decreasing as you go down.
- Kaladar Academy: Located in Hammerton, this is one of the two magic academies located in Kaladar. This school focuses on areas of evocation, transmutation, and conjuration
- Syldin's School: Located in Norfield. The other magic academy in Kaladar. This school focuses on abjuration, divination, illusion, and enchantment.
- The Sunspire: Located in Santristain. This is the largest temple dedicated to Aeli in the world.
- House of Judgment: Located in Glintton. This is both a temple dedicated to Alimann and the courthouse of Kaladar.
- The Repository: Located in Norfield. A temple dedicated to Vairea. Within the temple grounds is the entrance to the catacombs beneath the city as well as the largest graveyard and masoleum in the city.
- Tulmo's Arena: Located in Hammerton. Both a temple to Tulmo and an entertainment complex for sporting events.
Demographics
As both a trading up and the capital of the empire, the population is made up of an extremely diverse citizenry. According to the last census of the city, the population is made up of approximately 29% Human, 27% Elf, 18% Halfling, and 16% Dwarf, with the remaining 10% of the population being a small mix of tiefling, gnome, and dragonborn.
Economically, the city is similarly diverse. While there is a large disparity between those at the very top of the class structure and those at the bottom, there is a large middle class of craftsmen, merchants, and artisans that live in the city.

Some notable people from Kaladar include:- Captain Bianca Montilyet - Captain of the Imperial Guard
- Geoffry Keson - founder of the Waffle House Inn franchise.
- Lady Aethis Challey - former Chair of Arcana in the Royal Council, discovered to be the head of a fanatic cult dedicated to Umhendos.
- Sir Gilam Hawe - Captain of the city guard
Defences
The Great Gate, two towers on either bank of the river Fliss. A massive chain net lies between them that can be raised to block the entrance to the river.
On the shores of the river, the city is surrounded by massive walls that are routinely patrolled by the city guard. There are three gates in this wall, one to the north and two to the south. All are constantly monitored by guards.
The Empress' Keep has the natural protection of being located on an island in the center of the river, with only two small bridges connecting it to the north shore of the river, and one larger bridge connecting it to the southern bank.
