Aeli
Theologists concur that Aeli and Heliana are aspects of the same deity, much like other members of the pantheon have multiple names and aspects throughout the world. However, political and cultural tensions have created a significant divide in the worship of this god.
Aeli is the most commonly worshiped god in the Cesarican empire. The first emperors of Cesarica were devoted to Aeli, and as a result, the veneration of this god spread throughout the continent along with the empire.
Description
Aeli is generally depicted as a young, cleanshaven man with bronze skin and hair. Most depictions have a sunburst halo around his head. He is often shown in golden robes and finery.Church
The church of Aeli is organized into a loose hierarchy. Each major temple is head by a Revered Mother or Father, with a sphere of influence that covers a wide area. Within the jurisdiction of each temple are several smaller parishes that are each administered by a Priest or Priestess. There is no supreme head of the church, though the Revered Mother of the Sunspire is informally recognized as the mouthpiece of the church as a whole, and most other clergy defer to her.Temples
Major temples dedicated to Aeli include:- The Sunspire - located in Kaladar, the largest temple of Aeli and de-facto headquarters of the church
