Jewel of the Sea of Mice

Famed throughout the Midlands as the Mouse's Jewel, the capital of Vilia, and home to the Order of the Grandmasters, it is through the granite gates of Yandarma that the wider world is introduced to the Land of the Three Kingdoms.   Nestled in an alcove along the Sea of Mice at the Yellow Bay, Yandarma plays host to the wealthiest harbors on the continent, and its citizens are by and large a mixture of merchants, mages, bureaucrats, and foreign sailors taken to a retired life on the land. Further inland from the piers lies the ornate hall of the Grandmasters, where reside the most talented mages of the Midlands and their apprentices. Agents of the Grandmasters operate many of the city's essential functions on behalf of the King, as a sort of collective mayoralty.   The residence of the King of Vilia rests on an island just beyond the harbor, a magnificent palace constructed in ornate granite of the same source in the Jade Mountains as the city's gates.   The Yandi hold a reputation of being proud but not arrogant, though some fit this description more accurately than others.
