Land of the Three Kingdoms
Situated between the Jade Mountains to the north, the Pearl Mountains in the south, the Sea of Mice to the west, and the Firenze Sea to the east, it is in the Land of the Three Kingdoms that reside the titular kingdoms of Linia, Vilia, and Dalia.
The geographical centrism of this region has led to it being commonly called the Midlands, an epithet extended to the dominant native peoples, the Midlanders. Their ultimate heritage is obscure; some believe they originated in a distant land and migrated over the Sea of Mice. The Hingardi, who reside in the Jade Mountains to the north, see them as invading occupiers and believe themselves to be the true natives of the Midlands.
Prior to the establishment of Linia, the oldest of the Three Kingdoms, the northern reaches were inhabited by disparate tribes; what these ancient peoples called themselves or the place they lived in is unknown. Inscriptions indicate that they did not speak the language of the modern Midlanders, nor anything related to it, lending heavy credence to the theory of foreign origin.
