Vilia
The smallest of the Three Kingdoms by geographic area, Vilia, known affectionately as the Mouse's Purse, resides in a position of existential precariousness: Sandwiched between the militaristic Dalia to the north and the expansionist Linia to the south, it is through the attainment and maintenance of economic hegemony in the Land of the Three Kingdoms that Vilia makes certain its own survival.
Historical kinship with its neighbors is a vital part of Vilian culture, though not to the extent exhibited by the Dalian mercenaries in its employ. The Kings of Vilia hold in their possession the wealthiest ports of call in the Land of the Three Kingdoms through which a significant majority of international trade passes. The Vilian capital city of Yandarma lies on the east-central coast of the Sea of Mice; within its citadel resides the headquarters of the Order of the Grandmasters.
Geography
Nations of greater might than Vilia have been known to fall in less than a generation given more favourable geopolitical situations. The small nation's survival is fractional: Due in three parts to cultural colinearity with its neighbors, and in two parts to its phenomenal economic exploitation of a central location along the eastern coast of the Sea of Mice.
It is in Vilia that the foothills of the Jade Mountains give way to what some call "The Green Bosom of Iau": Nourished by the mountains' rainshadow and the seabreeze from the west, dense deciduous forests blanket the majority of Vilian territory while arable grassland fills much of the far east of the country. It is not unheard of, but rare indeed that Vilia should suffer from famine.
