Tyriandome

At the southeastern extreme of Vilia, resting on the Oecus river just upstream of its junction with the Chelial, Tyriandome is known as the nation's collective home-away-from-home. A frequent location for the hosting of foreign dignitaries, Tyriandome plays host to extensive bartering and marketeering with the eastern city-states on the continent across the Firenze.   The city has become an adopted home for many eastern travelers who have sought refuge from the region's characteristic intergenerational blood feuds. In particular, merchants from the city-state of Kaline and their descendants are known to make their residence here, and number up to a quarter of the population.   Its reputation as a place of peaceful retirement has earned Tyriandome both respect and mockery from the rest of the nation, who often regard it as Vilia's very own gerontocratic city-state.
