The Harvest Prince

One true son of the Promised Queen's brood,   shall rise from his family's pooling blood,   to place the crown of autumn on the throne once more
— Prophecy, paraphrased
The Harvest Prince is a prophecy related to the Arsaces Monarchy, divined by the tideheart oracle known as the Fountain Mind.

Blood of Autumn

Though none prophesized that which would end the Arsaces Monarchy, one oracle did prophesize the source of its eventual redemption. Boldly did the Fountain Mind declare, from her shrouded oasis, that the deposed monarchy would reclaim its power and seize its bloodied throne with its own true-blooded son. From the ashes, she predicted, the male heir of the throne would surmount great challenges and endure great suffering to return a victor upon his rightful throne.

Fate Shifted
Had this prophecy never reached the Hand, it was likely that the deposition of the monarchy would have been a far less bloody one. It is too late now, of course, to know for certain just how their plan would have differed.

End of the Line

This prophecy did not travel far from the oracle's homeland, only reaching Aurel through the churches of Atreimus as its missionaries traveled between these sheltered lands and their own yet-unsheltered kingdom. When missionaries returned with this knowledge they shared it with a scant few — rather notably, the monarchy was one of the last to be made aware that such a prophecy came to be. The news was broken first to the Alabaster Hand and its exarch, and thus spurred a deposition far bloodier than even they may have intended.

No Heir Spared

When the day came for the Hand to strike against the ruling family, what was originally planned to be a simple trial and single execution, resulting in the dissolution of the throne through the laws of the kingdom, became a crusaders' bloodbath. If a son was to reclaim the throne one day, then the solution was to ensure no sons were left to take up the mantle. The widowed queen and all of her sons were cut down, no trial needed. One royal daughter went missing, presumed dead shortly after. Given her notable status as a daughter, and not a son of the throne, the Alabaster Hand paid little to no mind to her disappearance, ceasing their search within months of the event.
