Sun in Winter — News from the Frost
Winter is usually a time to slow down and rest. A quality time for hibernation, one might say — especially for a feral creature like myself. That got rather reversed this year, it seems, since I was down for so much of the summer. I guess that energy had to come out somewhere else, later in the year!
Malkora Rises Again, to Meet the Worldbuilding Awards 2025!
Malkora has returned for another go at the WAWAs, presenting some of my proudest works from the past year or two! Some of these are returning entries from last year, made shinier and presented anew, and others new creations entirely! At the time of publishing this newsletter, WAWA voting is in full swing! I invite you to check out my entries, for both Malkora and Ayun Sovos, and drop some votes if anything catches your eye! From Forge to Inferno: Sunshine on the Road to 25k
I had a goal in mind, and didn't stop until I got myself there.This WorldEmber was the first one to have Malkora competing for attention with another world, but that didn't mean that it didn't see plenty of love! Malkora came to see its first major character articles (deities don't count ) and some prose that I'm thrilled to have continued.
Furthering the Harvest
Malkora's main storyline got some new additions during WorldEmber, and several of the story's characters have articles to themselves! December was an amazing month for prose and character development, and I'm very much excited to take time to continue this story in the near future!Illuminating the Holy Front
While I continue to toil away at developing Malkora's Leylines and the overall magic system that drives the world, I've taken to developing the regions of the world that are least affected by these powers: The Kingdom of Arsavela and Vynarsa.
Of the two, Vynarsa took center stage this event, though Arsavela saw some development as I tackled the subjects of its recently-deposed rulers, the Arsaces Family, and their former home of Castle Amsa.
I rewrote and clarified some old, old lore from Malkora's beginnings — the tale of the conflict between Eletta and Entelen, and brought to life a new shard of Vosra that arose in its wake: Vosra, the Redeemer.
I'm also eager to explore a potential future (faaar future...) plot hook that could center around the Great Crossing. I mean.. it would be an awful shame if something were to happen to it.
Fleshing out the World
I also worked on two articles destined to function as world pillars — the Ascended, chronicling those mortals who ascended to godhood to form their own classification-based pantheon, and Boharin, defining and describing the nature of humanity in Malkora, and their relationship to the magic native to the world.

I even found some time to make some art showing our Fleeting Harvest protags, Brynna (left) and Gidren (right)! Their designs aren't finalized, but it's a quick look at how I envision them in comparison to one another!
Starting (and continuing) my storytelling journey in Malkora at long, long last is one of my favorite things to come out of the past year!
Sunrise to Sunset — Ongoing Projects in Malkora
Not everything that goes on in the world is new and shiny from start to finish. Some projects have ancient roots, with new growth springing up from time to time — listing out the full catalog doesn't quite suit the newsletter, but it's nice to have the links handy throughout the year!

Long is the quest to find yourself...
Gidren's struggles with clouded memory leave him uncertain of his identity or where he belongs, but his newfound friend, Brynna, aims to guide him back to the right path as they travel through the Kingdom of Arsavela searching for answers. Fleeting Harvest follows the travels of this pair as they make sense of their lives, and come to learn more about their Kingdom, and the world around it.Current Chapters
