Seek a new dawn, in Malkora!

Boharin

They descended upon us, with arms outreached, citing the scripture of old:   "What comes next, ye shall not fear, for we come to deliver our blessed children."   We watched through shifting eyes as some underwent the transformations, and others — well, their cries for help went unanswered, in the end.
— Tales from the Ash
The Boharin are people who have never been exposed to the emergence of a leyline, thus retaining all features typical to an ordinary human. In essence — the baseline, for all humans of Malkora.

Clean Slate

The simplicity of human life can be found all throughout Malkora. Ordinary places, relatively untouched by the natural metaphysical forces of the world, are sprinkled thoughout the lands in pockets, tucked between turned and altered lands. Kingdoms rise and fall as they normally do, with cities and towns filled with ordinary folk — common as it is, it doesn't last forever.

Shaped by the Lands

The nature of the Boharin is to adapt to the lands they inhabit. If the lands around them do not change — neither will they. It is the age-old function of evolution, to remain unchanged when form sustains survival and proliferation, and to adapt as the environment necessitates change.

Magical Bloodlines

Whether they are aware of it or not, every human of Malkora bears some form of ancient bloodline.   There are many Boharin who may never come to find out what bloodline they bear, or that magic even flows through them; there are, likewise, many who will make the discovery one day, for better or for worse.

Faithkept

Blood of the Divine
Born with the blood of the divine, the Faithkept are humans with a connection to the gods of Malkora, in varying degrees. Where a Faithkept walks, it is known that gods follow, even if from a distance.

Leyborne

Blood of the Leylines
The magic of Malkora's leylines runs through the Leyborne, just as it does through the world itself. The Leyborne are especially sensitive to changes in their environment that are brought upon by shifts in the leylines.

Eldwrought

Blood of the Earth
Magic more ancient than the leylines continue to live and breathe in Malkora, and the Eldwrought carry their primal essence in their veins. The natural elements of the world care for their own.

Kingdoms Unaltered

Several pockets of the world exist, in which the leylines have yet to wreak havoc on Boharin populations — or had not done so in a long enough time that a new population arose in the ruins of another.

The Autumnlands

The longest-lived Boharin kingdom in Malkora is the Kingdom of Arsavela, which withstood the test of time. Whether this is through chance, or some mercy of the natural world, is unknown still, but this land has enjoyed a stability not granted to almost any other corner of Malkora.   Nearby lands benefit from this unchanging quality, including those of Uris Braena and its sister Uris Halnaa, but others face their own braces with magic. Nimavi finds its own stability in the face of, not one, but two simultaneous leyline emergences — but these have remained static and unchanged for nearly the same amount of time as Arsavela's fortunate peace.

The Holy Front

Farther away, upon the grand border of central and southern Nefyran rests the kingdom of Vynarsa and its holy empire. The stronghold of the Church of Dawn, known to many as the The Ivory Sanctum, stands tall upon the surrounding horizons.
