Ilsir

The Ilsiri are not the same people they once were when they first came to Kalio. They were once Fae, immortal beings influenced by the ever-changing whims of the Everwilds, and the Fae Lords who hold the entire plane under their domain. It was the Mother, stumbling her way into the first of the cracks between Kalio and other mirror worlds that broke the hold that the Fae Lords had on the Fae creatures that would become the first of the Ilsiri. The Mother was wild, strong, and commanding, and it lured away many of the Ilsiri to our world. When they crossed that gap for the first time, the rules of Kalio’s reality stole away their immortality, although Ilsiri still live among the longest lives of the Kalians, on average living over 4 centuries, with a few rare specimens living as many as a full 9 or ten, although these are often specific cases of druidic masters in contact with nature in such an intimate way that the world’s vitality is their own. While Ilsiri though have always been intimately connected to nature and the wild. They have always been considered a civilized race, since long before the Void War, although some scholars say they challenge that perspective every day. They often live in elemental communes, that are far from the cities and walls most other species live behind. Sylvari meld with the trees, making homes of the branches and the leaves as they sing them into existence, while Jesari live among the stones and mountains, as caves and networks of natural life seem to pop up where they go. No matter how naturalistic they seem to live, they are definitely civil in how they conduct their… wild tendencies. Depending on the type of region they’ve assimilated to, they gain different ability bonuses, and proficiency in a skill/special abilities.   All Ilsir, Regardless of Game Edition, gain the following ability.   Melding Trance   When in their aspect environment, an Ilsir does not require sleep. They instead fall into a trance like state melding into their environment, effectively disappearing from sight and Maintaining awareness around themselves, they only need to maintain this state of being for four hours to get the benefits of a full night Rest.     Mechanics
