Saf'haa
A hub for improving
In Ashtara, it was a well-known city to visit if you wished to train and improve your magic. Not to mistake it with a school, it is not school-based. The city had many places set up as locations to help one improve their already known knowledge.
They have halls that protected the outside for magic going awry, halls that boosted magic, places filled with specific decoration to try new spells or to learn how a spell interacts with new things, multiple libraries with knowledge that visitors have learn in the city and wanted to share, and even tutors-for-hire or sparring-mates-for-hire. If you needed something, you could assume it could be found in here. It was their pride that they had everything needed to improve.
This constant stream of magic users made the inhabitants also be quite experienced in magic since young, and most professions in town involved magic. Almost everything sold had an enchantment or two, even if it did nothing else than make something shinier or tastier.
It is also thanks to the amount of experienced magic users that made the city survive so well the dawn of magic but it is also because of it that it quickly corrupted and turned into abandoned ruins when it reached Iphars, whose magic is highly chaotic and, even though people quickly realised about that and started taking action to reduce the chaotic impact, it was already too late and they fleed to the rest of the cities in Keetharsi.
Nowadays, decades after the decay of the city, it has started to be visited again, carefully, and used as a place to, once again, practice magic without worrying to damage important things around them.
