Iversh' lamp
The growth
These objects grow in the densest foliage of the trees, made of what seems to be crystallised or solidified sap. They grow downwards in an irregular cylindrical way and are of a greyish yellow colour but shines in a bright warm orange light.
When taken out of the tree, they will keep shining for some time before quickly lower the amount of light cast until there's none. When they are broken —and they are quite tough— they release a thick hot slimy liquid that smells like rotten food and lingers for a couple days even after whatever it has touched has been washed multiple times.
The call
The warmth of the lamp is a nice contrast of the humid coldness of the Soufest cave system and it makes the area of the Iversh tree a nice place to camp, if you can excuse the occasional corpse or skeleton at the tree's roots. It is also a great last resource improvised torch if one can manage to ignore the rotten smell and the sticky burning sap —as they are more prone to break than not when being picked.
But when the Iversh is calling you, it becomes much more than a lamp. It is nostalgy, the warmth is the embrace of a loving mother, the smell whatever you miss more of your childhood —when you had no worries. Its smell is suddenly desired and picking or damaging the lamps feels like killing a part of yourself. The burning sap doesn't even feel like it's burning anymore.
And the greatest feeling? When you hear its song, calling to you, with a voice of the person you loved most and you miss the most.
Nope. No. Scary tree is becoming more scary.
