Táxis Didaskalōn
Pictured above is the statue of Ohmite Hyperion in Didaskaleion Aithēros in Rimonevan, Hodrana.
Ohmi is a quintessential part of life in Iorasica as it is the energy source that exists within all animate objects and even some inanimate objects. It’s recorded in codices that the sapient beings of Iorasica were taught by The Ohmites how to harness ohmi and expel it for many uses. Before modern day Dendrohmi, these teachings, along with the Writ of the Ohmites, served as the old faith since early entries closely adhered to the Apeiron Cycle. What was recorded from the Ohmites eventually led to the creation of the Táxis Didaskalōn, or the order of the schools. The Didaskalōn (abbr.) have protected the precepts that classify each branch of ohmi since people learned they could channel ohmi. Today, they foster the growth and development of Mancers.
Structure
The Dendrorders of Ohmi is a codex detailing the intricate latticework of The Didaskalōn. To study The Dendroders of Ohmi is to trace the flow of each branch of ohmi heritage all the way to its roots of formation during the Primorial Age. Derived from the word dendron meaning “tree,” and the word “order,” the name simulates the image of a great Camphor with its trunk representing the unified nature of ohmi. Its great boughs symbolize the Didaskaleia (schools), and its smaller branches the Didachai (teachings). The Didachai give way to twigs and leaves which represent the Táxeis (orders) where practice is held and specialization is molded.
The Didaskaleia are akin to guilds or fellowships. They are the formative branches of traditional ohmi that have been shaped by centuries of divine selection and mortal scholarship. Within the Disdakaleia are the Didachai, or the branches that Mancers hone skills under to become their specialized Mancer.
One may think that once a mancer has chosen their Didaskaleion, they will become a specialized Mancer (i.e. Geomancer), but that isn’t always the case. A Mancer will only officially become specialized after they have mastered at least one Didachē within their Didaskaleion.
After a Mancer is specialized, they may then go on to master other Didachē within their Didaskaleion to attain the status of High Mancer. A specialized Mancer must achieve mastery in two or more Didachai to become a High Mancer. Once becoming a High Mancer, a Mancer may then progress towards molding their specialization under a Táxis. Once a specialization has been mastered, a Mancer will then be able to achieve Arch Mancer status.
