Contaminated Isle
The Contaminated Isle is a lonely island in the middle of the Great Ocean far from any other island or landmass. Surrounded by deep monster-infested waters, this isle is never visited by surface-dwelling ships. Even most aquatic species avoid this place. The Leviathans around here seem to actively conceal the island, and avoid going near it.
The island itself is fairly barren. There are no haunting ruins or imposing arcane landmarks. Just a patch of sand, then rocky soil covered in tall grass, shrubs, ferns, and a few unusual trees. Nothing overtly magical, just a particularly isolated island. It isn't the visible parts of the island that give visitors pause.
It is immediately intuitively obvious that something is deeply wrong and dangerous here for any creature touched by the Architects's influence - that is to say every creature in Halika. The feeling is obvious and overbearing, compelling most who come here to try and immediately flee. The island inspires surreal and twisted nightmares to those who have seen it; nightmares that consume the mind but provide no clues or answers. There is no malevolence coming from this island (though some may attribute it as a way to explain their feelings), only immense danger and a feeling that there is something vast moving just out of sight. Even Leviathans find it horrifying. An entire Elder Leviathan known as Neverseen lurks near this place, guarding it as a dark secret of the world.
If anyone were to inspect the island more closely, it would become clear that there is some sort of influence being exerted here. The plant life is too diverse, with each individual plant growing into an entirely new species. The sand and rocks here form unusual fractal patterns when undisturbed by the wind and waves. Things sometimes move when they shouldn't: a heavy object might be moved by a gentle breeze in a certain direction and then suddenly return to normal. Nothing is moving on its own entirely, but there are patterns under the surface of this place that will influence any existing movement that they can.
This island was the one place where the fully empowered force known as The Static directly touched the world of Halika at the end of the Divine Era. It is also possibly where the Observer was created.
As a place touched by the Static, this island is completely invisible to the Divine Observation of Lunar God. What happens on this island is completely invisible to gods and states alike. This effect is largely unknown to people, as this island has not been frequently visited and is considered mythical by both gods and wizarding institutions.
