Divine Observation

Divine Observation is one of the powers granted to Lunar Gods by The Architects. This ability allows the Lunar God to choose a person (or, with greater difficulty, a thing) and then absorb any knowledge they want about that person. This could be a person's entire life history, their darkest secrets, their internal wants and desires, or a few key facts about a person's actions.    Divine Observation is one of the key abilities of The Lunar Pantheon that allows them to give useful and pertinent advice even after many centuries of time. It also allows them to manipulate politics to their ends: if a Lunar God turns their gaze upon you, they can easily persuade, manipulate, blackmail, or thwart you. Of course, the Lunar God would require willing and able servants to do so; the Gods have very limited abilities to influence the material world. But in a tense political environment, an unblockable divine eye can be quite the gamechanger.    Divine Observation is mentally taxing for a Lunar God to do; the knowledge and memories they observe don't just neatly compress, but require time and effort to parse. Without Metaminds the Lunar Pantheon wouldn't be able to Observe nearly as much as they do, but even with them they are very limited. Most Lunar Gods restrict their most thorough Observations to a handful of people they consider to be globally important. A God might scan one of their agents on a handful of sensitive topics to ensure loyalty and ability, or they might pull a few key facts about some random person contacting them as a show of power, but the real deep dives are for their strongest vassals and most dangerous enemies.    Prior to the Apocalypse, the only way to block or subvert the Divine Observation was through the rare magic of the Observer and their descendants (the Saraja Family) or through a few rare magical blessings by powerful demigods like Suwota.   During the Apocalypse, the Nemeses have a number of magical arts and abilities to block the Divine Observation or to feed it misinformation.
