Halika
Halika is a name of the inhabited planet where all mortals currently reside.
Here is a basic map of Halika's climates and geography; the merman symbols represent major aquatic ecosystems.
Halika is the true name of the world according to the Halikvar religion, meaning "Halcyon's place". Many religions that revere Halcyon as a supreme God have since adopted this name for the world, and they have spread the use of the name to other continents and religions.
This nomenclature isn't universal, though. Here are some examples of alternatives:
- In Stildane, the planet is called Genbarzen or Kerg.
- In the Empire of Calazen, the world is called Ardza or Ardsa.
- The Desmians and Ishkibites called the world Krae or Krai.
- The Final Choir of Vetevism have traditionally called the world Giken, though they increasingly have adopted 'Halika' and 'Ardza'.
- The Sunekans call the planet Tlepol.
- The Zihari call the world "Zold"
- The Zesheko call it "Omzo".
- The Empire of Zerua once called the world Kala, though Halika has increasingly been used over the last few centuries
- Indigenous Loanua call the world Lotanea
