Apocalypse
Many cultures and religions predict that the world will end in various ways. Heksalans teach that this will be called 'Wanapadan'; Aretans call it the Great Scouring; the Singing Church of Orisha calls it the 'Final Performance'. All of them have wildly different myths and prophecies about how the end will happen.
None of them were quite right - assuming that this Apocalypse is as total as it seems.
All the way back in 0 ME, when The Architects vanished from the world, some prophecies claimed that they would return in mortal form. Two thousand years later, they finally did. Along with them, four dark counterparts have also incarnated - called the Nemeses.
On one side is God Squad, the pantheon-writ-small as four adventurers and mortals just trying to make it through life:
- Potha Sarana, incarnated Halcyon
- Arzet Devadov, The Chimera incarnated
- Makar Mesaba, The Masked One incarnated
- Kipilu of Tezitkal, The Hidden One incarnated
- All of the assembled mortals and immortals who have not been seduced to the apocalypse's side
- Safia, the False Halcyon, master of monstrous armies and dark champion of the apocalypse
- Verkon, The False Chimera, weaver of lies, master of cults, and he who manifests nightmares
- Kasmir, the Rot, calamity incarnate, center of the perpetual storm, and plaguefather
- Dina, the Martyr, patron saint of a glorious Hive Mind that seeks to assimilate and replace the world with a promised paradise
- Assorted dark manifestations that flock to their banners, typically through the Lunar Challengers - a dark mirror to the The Lunar Pantheon
