Devouring of Avetem

The Devouring of Avetem or Desolation of Avetem is an ongoing crisis in the tropical subcontinent of Avetem. The forces of Safia the False Halcyon are swarming over the lands, corrupting the landscape and subjugating the people to the False God's will.    Unless the God Squad intervenes, this conflict will likely end with the total corruption of Avetem within a year or two. Already, Avetem's greatest empires and heros have fallen and many of the most prosperous lands are ruined.    Here is a map of the corruption during Act 1:     From that origin point in the center, Safia's forces have already moved to corrupt lands across the continent.

• The Red areas are already deeply corrupted, with minimal resistance remaining.
• The Purple/pink areas are in mortal peril and are likely doomed. Monsters are common and resistance is present but struggling. This represents a range of states, from "the forces of resistance are fighting and losing slowly" to "monsters have eaten the government but holdouts remain"
• The Yellow areas are touched by corruption and monsters but remain under the control of non-corrupted elites. This ranges from warzones to mostly-safe areas with a handful of monsters running about.
• The Brown areas are sparsely populated mountains that the Apocalyptic forces are corrupting but haven't fully attuned to. Dangerous areas to travel in, but not convenient for Safia's forces to move in any sizable numbers.
• The Grey areas are non-corrupted sparsely populated mountains. Tan-grey indicates sparsely populated deserts
• The Green areas are forests, plains, hills, underground cities - well populated areas. These range from bands of hunters and foragers to great kingdoms.

    And here is a map of the major areas of conflict and opposition. The Empire of Runeva has moved to meet the corruption in the Southeast, which has been racing towards them. The Empire of Miuta and assembled warriors of Orchid of Blue are desperately fighting for Movoto. In the Northeast, Lily of Red's Halikvar army has moved to contain the monsters moving their way.    Aside from these major clashes, Safia's monsters have been striking a number of regions unprotected by grand armies of demigods:

• The greater lakes area East of Sumaren fights for its life, undefended and alone. 
• The Gauntlet of Green is threatened as the region of Chushana struggles to rally against the invaders. Bonnon and the coastal kingdoms watch in horror.
• North Sonev has had Unwilling creep down from two snaking mountain passes, creating unexpected outbreak zones in the region of Boragesha. 
• The Holy Flock of Sakesh fights valiantly alongside their once-rebel paladins of Theia the Liberator against monsters that rush North along the rivers
• The kingdoms of Tianar lay mostly in ruin. The monsters seem to be taking their time, lazily eating petty kingdom after petty kingdom. Only the Dhampire-cultists of the far South have offered real resistance. 
• The Southernmost Kima Cities are been swarmed through their trading tunnels.
