Lesser Dragons
The lesser dragons are believed to have been created at the same time as the True Dragons, quite possibly as a byproduct of the act of draconic bigenesis. The lesser dragons are split into the same five elemental classes as the Dragons. They make up a substantial part of the natural fauna of Erask.
Lesser dragons all have scaled skin but warm blood. The texture and colour of their scales varies widely between different species and subspecies, but they are broadly categorised as one of five colours:
The solitary dragons are large, some larger than a True Dragon. They can live for millennia, breed rarely, and grow slowly and constantly until extreme old age or violence finally brings them low.
The flocking dragons are substantially smaller, and as the name suggests they live in familial groups of varying size, with smaller subspecies living in larger flocks. They breed and grow fast, and rarely live for much more than a century.
In addition to the true and lesser dragons, the creation of the Dragons resulted in the genesis of the Dragonets

- Purple - Usually linked to smooth, rounded scales, purple covers a range of colours from blues to reds. Those with purple colouration tend to be bold, aggressive and territorial.
- Grey - Grey tones - anything between white and black - are usually seen on heavy, pentagonal or hexagonal scales. They are associated with an aggressive, predatory temperament.
- Brown - Covering a range of darker browns, greens and maroons, this colouration is usually found on smooth, leaf-shaped scales. Brown dracoforms are believed to be grumpy and defensive.
- Tan - Lighter browns and dark oranges belong to smooth-scaled, curious animals.
- Yellow - Bright orange and true yellows are linked to heavy, saw-edged scales. Yellow dracoforms are haughty and proud.
