Warlocks

(The contents of this page are NOT common knowledge)
"The only true order is found in chaos, creating from the ashes of that which once was."
— Warlock, The Warlock

History

Introduction

The Tyrant’s most loyal followers came together long long ago, all holding close to his most true ideals. They saw, through interaction with his Facets, what he really wanted and they all wanted to please him, thus they created a group in secret. Each night after their inception, they travelled to homes and whispered the gospel of Order in Chaos to those most susceptible to believing their words. Slowly but surely, they got others to help breed unrest in the first city they settled under first. Far and wide, they broke households apart by spreading lies to both husbands and wives, murdered those who praised Order by Law, and even tortured and maimed government officials who sought to put an end to the Viscera Cult.   At the forefront of the Viscera Cult was a man named Reivras who earned the title “the Peeler” for his preferred method of torture. His gathering of believers of “structure in anarchy “ were blessed with the ability to incite chaos where there was none and of convincing others to partake in the belief. These Warlocks, as they came to be known were fighters and practitioners of rituals bound by nothing but their raging faith. They accumulated murderers and thieves in their ranks and were sought out by more for the power they could receive.   One of the founders of our Order helped to put him down - Though it took his life…   The Warlocks existed throughout many years as disturbers of peace and bringers of chaos in the world, often finding members of their order aiding criminals or even demonic foes, as well as salvers. Many bore ill will towards the Warlocks openly. Picking up enemies from almost every corner of Gaia, their future was a steady stream of members and enemies for what would certainly be centuries.   Though it was the Gildaran Creed, Paladins serving various gods of Order and Balance, who put an end to this far earlier than anticipated. In one of their many campaigns and wars against the agents of evil in the world, they struck at the Viscera Cult during its peak, forcing it to downsize and become less known as the Cult of Kindred rose.   During a bright blue day, the Viscera Cult of the Tyrant was massively reduced in size, their practices pushed even further underground.   Scattered, those who remained began to form their own versions of the cult, no longer bound under a single unified banner but bound by their faith. It is now, in the days of modern times, that these Warlocks begin to show themselves once more. Their individual cults connect, and they seek to restore their once-great faith.   In the case of Beastfolk, Gahori seem to have been aware Warlock magic for as long as they can remember though they do not treat it the same way as the denizens of the Old World. To them, it is magic bestowed upon them by Bomani for the sake of protecting their creations and destroying those of others in honour of their master. The sects of Beastfolk that worship “the Master” also receive this power and are akin to those who worship demons in the Armusian heartlands, and for them death is but a light punishment.

Divines

There are many divines who create Warlocks who posess their powers.   The Tyrant
The Tyrant is known as one of The Seven Mortal Gods, deities residing within the Material Plane in which the mortal races inhabit, designated as one of those who defend it from otherworldly threats. This God in particular takes on a chaotic role, disrupting the peace, and destroying it. They are, inherently, an “evil” God, usually siding with The Dark One.   They grant their Divine Favor to any, turning those who wish to herald in destruction into Warlocks capable of utilizing powers to enslave, destroy or create from the ashes. All in all the practice of their Divine Gifts revolves around creating chaos and enslaving, and rituals born thereof.

  Zyzrasil
Zyzrasil is one of the Elemental Lords, the rulers of The Elements and has darkness as his domain. Those who have managed to glimpse his form describe him as a slender, sharp, and disfigured entity with dark wisping tendrils rolling off of him. He despises Qhethys and Ralios but respects Vilias despite any disagreements they might have.

  Divine Daemons
The 6 Divine Daemons of The Demonic Steppes rule over their regions of the plane uniquely. Most have clear desires and goals unique to them and desire to extend their spheres of influence through their own demons or mortals.

Forging a Connection

  The Tyrant
Becoming a Warlock of The Tyrant is no easy task, it is a trial evermore difficult than other Mortal Arts, requiring one to receive the favor of The Tyrant. They enjoy those who live lives killing and stealing, slaving, creating from metaphorical ashes and being general nuisances, especially in the name of one of his facets. Most importantly are those who wish to act as his direct agents of chaos, and grants them the ability to draw power from other beings. When these such individuals find themselves at their highest points, performing outrageous acts simply for the sake of it or subjugating large groups of beings or murdering or sacrificing in his name, they reach out a steady hand to guide them into his servitude with power and promises of great sights of order within chaos should they swear themselves to them or simply work for no one but themselves. In this, they seek murderers, slavers, thieves, the insane, those in thirst of power and any who can create from the aftermath to be their followers.   When a Warlock has been chosen, a large tome is found by the Warlock- sticking from the earth, falling from the sky, or merely appearing at their bedside with a mark of the selected patron on it. Any number of ways exist for a Warlock to find theirs, but all do in time. With this book, they learn to cast spells, incantations and the first ritual they must undertake. This ritual involves contacting otherworldly beings to intrest them and have them become a patron, providing the power necessary to cast spells and abilities.   To those who lack the gift of The Tyrant, the book will grow teeth where the pages are and attempt to harm those who grab it, but for those who have been chosen by The Tyrant, the book will reveal secret words explaining the various Truths.
  • A Warlock gains their connection through sacrificing, murdeing, causing chaos where there is peace and worshipping him/showing devotion. The Tyrant will reach out and offer them a place as his servant.
  • A Warlock must be a Gaian.
  • A Warlock gains a book after forging their connection, allowing them to learn how to cast their spells and incantations, learned more properly as the Warlock progresses through the magic Ranks.
  • A Warlock who loses their book ceases to progress as Warlock until they recover it, or receives a new one through an event.

  Zyzrasil
Becoming a Warlock of Zyzrasil is no easy task, requiring one to receive the favor of Zyzrasil. This mainly done by worshipping him, performing his rituals and sacraficing creatures to him. He will never choose one who associates themselves with Ralios or Qhethys but is ever eager to lure their best to his side. In almost all cases he will send an agent to help make the connection between himself and his chosen. This ritual involves contacting a dark elemental and have them become a patron or in rarer cases becoming beneficiary of Zyzrasil themself, providing the power necessary to cast spells and abilities.   To those who lack the gift of Zyzrasil, the book will grow teeth where the pages are and attempt to harm those who grab it, but for those who have been chosen by Zyzrasil, the book will reveal secret words explaining the various Truths.

  Daemonic Princes
Becoming a Warlock of a Daemonic Princes is no easy task, requiring one to receive the favor of a Daemonic Princes or Archdaemon such as Magraphos, Angraphos, Tyranos or Zraeste. This mainly done by worshippingthem, performing rituals and sacraficing creatures in their name that would befit them. They will never choose one who associates themselves with Celestials but is ever eager to lure their best to their side, besides that each have certain likes and dislikes and learning or figuring out those is how one furthers their favor. In almost all cases they will send an agent to help make the connection between themself and their chosen.   When a Warlock has been chosen, a large tome is found by the Warlock- sticking from the earth, falling from the sky, or merely appearing at their bedside with a mark of the selected patron on it. Mechanics

Favor

Like all of The Mortal Arts, the use of the magic bestowed upon Warlock is measured in “Favor.” A form of exhaustion measuring the loyalty of the Warlock to their Divine, consumed upon the use of any of their Liturgies. At a base level, all Warlocks have Eight points of Favor; Eight instances where they can cast their magic before being unable to do so anymore. This Favor does not regenerate naturally however, the Warlock being required to perform certain actions to regain it. A single action will restore anywhere from one to two Favor, and only one may be performed per IRL day. Due to the difficulty in regaining favor, most users of Mortal Arts try to refrain from casting where possible. The ways to regain favor are as follows:
  • Enslaving or selling a being will grant the Warlock a single point of Favor.
  • Destroying a significant object, creating from its ashes and then offering the new object to the Divine will grant the Warlock a single point of Favor.
Performing any of the above methods of gaining Favor must be screenshotted, but need not be shown to any LT unless explicitly asked for it. Being caught abusing this system will result in instant denial of your application and a Magic Blacklist.

Pact

A Warlock who seeks to further the connection between them and their may perform a Pact, a chaotic deal. Those who take this deal will find that the Favor they have will always return to a minimum of two at the start of each IRL day. They cannot exceed this number still without performing the proper rituals mentioned above however.   To make this deal, a Warlock must deepen their connection to their patron. This requires a Warlock to speak with them regularly and eventually recieve a single law that cannot be broken from them. These are usually twisted in nature and oddly specific. The cost of breaking this law is usually ones soul or becoming a puppet. Once this is done a Warlock may create a proper pact with their patron, granting them a minimum of two favor at the start of each IRL day.

Body of the Warlock

The price of a divine’s intervention in your casting however does not come without sacrifice. Whereas an Enigma Magi may grow physically vulnerable or weaker from many sessions casting their spells, the Warlocks suffer modifications to the mind and eyes. You see, the exchange and connection to that of a divine is not a fair deal for both sides. The Liturgies of these greater beings slowly whittle away at the mental state of each of their connected followers with every single spell that one may cast. An idle drain of the essence in one’s soul which often leaves the Truthseeker relatively worse off than how they may have started. The progression of this madness goes as follows:   All forms of Magic come with a price. An Enigma Mage grows physically vulnerable from the strain of their casting, Darkspawn slowly ceases to function as living entities. Warlocks, however, begin to undergo a mental strain as they progress through the four stages of progression. Not only is this due to their connection with the Prophet but due to the myriad of futures that they may see in their dreams.
  • A Basic Warlock undergoes no physical alterations just yet, The Tyrant’s influence only just now beginning to worm its way within the dark corners of the Warlock’s mind. Flashes of chaotic scenes begin, still in their early stages and oftentimes negligible.
  • An Adept Warlock begins to undergo the first instances of physical changes. Yet minor and allowing them to maintain the relative normalcy they might have had previously; sporadic finger movements, sporadic toe movements, random words being spoken, etcetera. Mentally, however, this pales in comparison to the mental backlash received. Now undergoing visions of a chaotic world that bring smiles as well as fervently worshipping their deity.
  • An Expert Warlock undergoes larger physical changes, suddenly striking poses or speaking phrases unrelated to the current situation. The mental drawbacks of the Warlock have reached their height, fully developing into Tourette Syndrome. Alongside this a third voice besides their Thrall appears, urging them to destroy objects and to create new ones. Their mind begins to delve into more proper insanity and chaos.
  • A Master Warlock undergoes no further mental changes, having already reached the utter limits that their mind could handle. Their body changes one last time as their eyes are never the same color, changing one very IRL day.

The Four Ranks

To judge the progression of a Truthseeking Warlock, four Ranks are given in accordance with the base magic rules. Basic, Adept, Expert, and Master spellcasters. A Truthseeker must abide by their Rank for a minimum of Two Months, allowing them to become a Master Truthseeker at six. Each Rank achieved grants the Spellcaster access to a new list of abilities:   Basic Witch | Domination, Thralled Blast, Imbue Blade
Adept Witch | Stinking Cloud, Confusion
Expert Witch | Distant Whisper, Cause Fear/Charm, Calm Self
Master Witch | Sinister Rebuke, Straw Doll, Object of Disaster   -=-

Magical Abilities

Liturgies

The Liturgies present in a Warlock's arsenal span mostly across the domains of chaos. The Liturgies are divided into two categories: Chaos Generators and Chaos Using. The latter requires a resource called Chaos generated by the former to be used. A Warlock is capable of holding up to 50. Each and every liturgy however is marked within a Warlock’s book, though unable to be utilized until the Warlock is of the appropriate Rank, having gained the practical knowledge to manage the magic. Every Age a Warlock loses 20 Chaos.

[ Domination ]

Rank: 1 |   Description: The first of a Warlock's Liturgies and the only Liturgy to not fall into the 2 categories. This spell requires preparation and a large enough room. With it, a Warlock can call forth/contact otherwordly beings such as demons, fey, eldritch or elementals in order to have a patron. From then on they may cast a plethora of other liturgies using their patron’s power.
  • This spell requires one Favor and must be done before any other liturgy can be cast.
  • A Basic Warlock may have their actions influenced by their patron, causing jerking motions or unintentional words to be said.
  • Throughout a Warlock’s spell casting or outside of such a Warlock may have their patron appear around them aesthetically.
A Warlock may speak to their patron mentally or speak out loud to them (depending on the patron's personality). The patron can choose to experience the Warlock's sense at anytime.   Redlines:
  • A patron's connection to the Warlock can be disrupted or destroyed by more powerful beings who are knowledgable in the connection. By doing this, a Warlock loses the ability to cast other spells.
-=-

[ Patroned Blast ]

Rank: 1 |   Description: The first instance of a Warlock’s Chaos Generator Liturgies, calling upon the power of their thrall or patron. A Warlock may launch a blast of concussive energy or a beam of crackling energy towards a target. Whatever form this blast takes, the energy will stick to the being and burns one all the way to its soul if not careful.   For 1 emote and 1 Favor a Warlock may launch a form of concussive energy up to 20 blocks. The physical damage received from the blast is akin to a soccerball-sized fireball. Whatever form this energy takes if it successfully hits a target it sticks to it and burns away at the soul but nothing physical. To remove this effect the target simply needs to spend a turn putting out the fire on them or calming their soul.   Thralled Blast can be augmented with additional effects for 1 Favor per effect. This effect must be mentioned within the casting emote:
  • Agonizing Blast: Add the effect of a target's muscles spazzing on hit, preventing offensive actions and dashes for 1 round.
  • Ranged Blast: Increase the range to 30 blocks.
  • Grasping Blast: Pull the target towards the caster on block or hit by 3 blocks.
  • Lancing Blast: Slow the target on block or hit by 3 blocks. Lasts for 1 round. A being or creature always has a minimum blockspeed of 1.
  • Repelling Blast: Push/throw the target away from the caster on block or hit by 3 blocks.
  Redlines:
  • Repelling or Grasping or Lancing Blast does not work on gigantic beings (usually found in events) but does increase damage against them.
  • Generates 5 Chaos.
  • The feeling of a soul burning is similar to being on fire.
-=-

[ Imbue Blade ]

Rank: 1 |   Description: Another basic instance of a Warlock’s Chaos Generator Liturgies, calling upon the power of their patron and imbue it within a weapon/staff/wand. This imbued weapon carries similar effects to a basic Patroned Blast but on a hit, a Warlock may choose an additional effect.   For 2 emotes and 2 Favor a Warlock may imbue their weapon with a form of concussive energy. Whatever form this energy takes if it successfully hits a target it sticks to it and burns away at the soul but nothing physical. To remove this effect the target simply needs to spend a turn putting out the fire on them or calming their soul.   On a hit or block, the target will suffer the weapon attack’s normal effects, and the Warlock can cause an one effect below:
  • Agonizing Blow: Add the effect of a target's muscles spazzing on hit, preventing offensive actions but not movement.
  • Lancing Blow: Slow the target on block or hit by 3 blocks. A being or creature always has a minimum blockspeed of 1.
  • Repelling Blow: Push/throw the target away from the caster on block or hit by 3 blocks.
  • Lifedrinker: On inflicting a wound A Warlock may heal a wound of theirs that is the same size or smaller.
  Redlines:
  • The weapon remains imbued for 4 rounds.
  • Repelling Blow does not work on gigantic beings (usually found in events) but does increase damage against them.
  • Generates 10 Chaos.
  • The feeling of a soul burning is similar to being on fire.
-=-

[ Stinking Cloud ]

Rank: 2 |   Description: The third Chaos Generator Liturgy allows a Warlock to extend their hand and project a puff of noxious gas from their palm. This cloud smells of the worse things on the Prime Materia and can cause those inside to start gasping for air, even the Warlock themselves.   For 1 Favor a Warlock may extend their hand and create a 7x7 block space of yellow, nauseating gas centred in front of them. The cloud spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. The cloud lingers in the air for 3 rounds. Inhaling the gas makes a breathing creature begin to retch and reel and in worse cases throw up their last meal. Creatures that don’t need to breathe or are immune.   Each creature within the cloud must roll a 1d20 and on a 13 or below they will throw up, losing their normal action.   Redlines:
  • The cloud is ‘heavy’ but can be dispersed with a strong wind.
  • Generates 5 Chaos.
  • This spell affects the Warlock as well but they recieve a +1 on the roll.
-=-

[ Confusion ]

Rank: 2 |   Description: The first instance of a Warlock’s Chaos Using Liturgies. A warlock may craft a spell in their hand and cast this chaotic spell on a being or creature's mind, spawning delusions of foes or provoking uncontrolled actions.   Requires 20 Chaos and 1 Favor to cast.   An affected target must roll a 1d10 at the start of each of its turns to determine its behaviour for that turn.
  • 1: The creature uses dashes in a random direction. To determine the direction, roll a 1d8 and assign a direction to each die face. .
  • 2-6: The creature doesn't move or take normal action this turn.
  • 7-8: The creature uses its actions to make a melee attack against a randomly determined creature within its reach. If there is no creature within its reach, the creature does nothing this turn.
  • 9-10: The creature can act and move normally.
  Redlines:
  • A Warlock chooses only 1 target for the spell.
-=-

[ Distant Whisper ]

Rank: 3 |   Description: The fourth Chaos Generator Liturgy. A Warlock can whisper to a target from afar with their own voice or someone they have heard. Excellent for causing fights or relaying information.   Requires 1 Favor to cast.   The spell has a range of 15 blocks and enables the caster to whisper (send messages) to their target. The Warlock Must have line of sight.   Redlines:
  • Lasts for 5 messages.
  • Generates 5 Chaos.
  • If the target moves out of the range, the spell stops.
-=-

[ Cause Fear/Charm ]

Rank: 3 |   Description: The second instance of a Warlock’s Chaos Using Liturgies. The mind and soul are usually in a state of calm but a Warlock can destroy this calmness but conjuring a creature's worst fear from the depths of their being to the front of their eyes. Alternatively, they can make themselves appear as an object or being the creature would never harm.   For 2 Favor and 20 Chaos a Warlock may project a phantasmal image of a creature's worst fears that only they can see over themselves. The target must be within 10 blocks. This effect frightens the creature but can be removed when the image no longer has a line of sight on them, 2 emotes of calming themself or inflicting enough pain on themselves to draw blood.   A Warlock may project a phantasmal image of a creature's “apple of their eye” that only they can see over themselves. The target must be within 10 blocks. This effect creates a charming effect within them that can be removed when the image no longer has a line of sight on them, 2 emotes of calming themself or inflicting enough pain on themselves to draw blood.   Redlines:
  • When frightened a creature cannot willingly move towards the Warlock.
  • Those immune to supernatural fear still see their worst fear but are not affected by fear from it.
  • A charmed creature does not fall in love with the caster (unless the target OOC wishes it to). At the very minimum, a charmed creature can’t attack the Warlock or target the Warlock with harmful abilities or magical effects.
  • If you use this to force a character to fall in love, you will get banned :)
-=-

[ Calm Self ]

Rank: 3 |   Description: Sometimes the best way to create destruction, violence and chaos is to create a calm before the storm. A Warlock may temporarily relieve themselves of the effects taken on their body by connecting to the Tyrant.   Redlines:
  • A Warlock may cast a spell on themselves that makes them immune from the effects of The Tyrant’s influence for 24 IRL hours.
  • Requires 1 Favor to cast.
-=-

[ Sinister Rebuke ]

Rank: 4 |   Description: The third instance of a Warlock’s Chaos Using Liturgies. The Warlock may reach their hand out and inflict a wound on their body on a target. The wounds are proportional to a creature’s body.   A Warlock points their finger at a creature within 6 blocks and inflicts a wound currently on their body onto that target at the same location.   Redlines:
  • Requires 1 Favor and 30 Chaos to cast.
  • The wound cannot lead to the immediate death of the target.
  • The wound is proportional to body size.
-=-

[ Straw Doll ]

Rank: 4 |   Description: The fourth instance of a Warlock’s Chaos Using Liturgies. The Warlock is able to keep straw dolls representing other people on their person. These dolls can redirect a single instance of damage that they receive towards the person they are linked to, regenerating the corresponding damage that the Warlock took.   This Chaos Using Liturgy allows them to create a doll of straw resembling a humanoid. In doing this, they may apply any amount of the hair of their target individual into the doll, and cast their Liturgy in the form of a doll at the expense of 2 Favor and 50 Chaos.   This forms a bond between the Warlock and the Humanoid target, with the doll acting as a medium between them. So long as the Warlock maintains possession of the doll, They may choose an instance of damage they received within 1 round of it happening and translate it to the afflicted individual, from cuts to burns, so on and so forth. Once the damage is taken the doll fades from a Warlock’s possession and the spell ends.   The connection between Warlock and the Target lasts up to an hour and dispels early if the Warlock losses possession of the doll or through the use of Clerical magics.   When forming a connection with a target, they must be online and must be messaged that they would suddenly begin feeling more chaotic, beyond what is normal.   Redlines:
  • Whilst intensive grievous injury can be transferred via this spell, the doll does not transfer a wound that would instantly kill the target unless the player consents.
  • Do to the nature of this spell, good villainy is heavily implied and cracked down on. Warlocks going and collecting hair dolls to instant-murder anyone for the smallest grievances could lead to possible MA revoking or LT warnings.
-=-

[ Object of Disaster ]

Rank: 4 |   Description: The last instance of a Warlock’s Chaos Using Liturgies. A Warlock can surround themselves in the favor of their god and throw it outward. Chaos ensues as objects are tossed to and fro, projectiles head in random directions, spells backfire or land on the wrong things and melee attacks cause incredible side effects.   This Chaos Using Liturgy allows the Warlock to turn an area into a chaotic situation at the expense of 2 Favor and 50 Chaos.   The area affected by the chaos is a 25x25 area with the Warlock at the center. For 2 rounds the entire area is consumed by chaos. Melee attacks will past through their targets or strikes at the air will cause phantom blades to appear and do the same against a target. Projectiles may make sudden turns or return to the one who fired them. Spells may be redirected and/or change their targets. All is under the will of the Warlock and they decide what happens. Whenever someone within the area emotes an attack, emotes firing or casting a projectile or spell a Warlock may decide if it continues normally or whether some other seemingly chaotic effect happens.   Redlines:
  • As a general rule characters involved should have a chance to react to the chaotic result of their action.
  • Against powerful creatures, their attacks may require more concentration not allowing for other random effects and enid the duration of the spell immediately after.

The Warlock Cults and Sacred Sacraments

Warlocks are not required to do so, but those who seek further understanding of The Tyrant and the powers they serve often form into a Cult. This allows for them to combine their Favor and Chaos into one larger pool depending on how many join them, using their Liturgies collectively. This allows for certain Liturgies to spread their use to any other Warlocks within their respective Cult. Straw Doll, for instance, allows all Cult Warlocks to create a sort of domino effect of inflicting wounds. Warlocks of the same Cult can operate normally another Warlock’s Object of Disaster. A Warlock may always have a +1’s Stinking Cloud roll.   Lastly, a Warlock Cult gains access to three new abilities referred to as their Sacred Sacraments, provided the Cult exists with at least three Warlocks of Master Rank or higher. On casting any of these abilities, a total of three Favor must be spent from their now collective pool. None of these spells may be performed in the midst of combat, though may have adverse effects on it after the initial casting.

[ Brokenland ]

Description: Brokenland is the first of the three Sacred Sacraments available to a Warlock Cult. This Liturgy is considered to be on of the vilest of all of their Liturgies, as the Warlocks come together to channel their generated chaos. In doing so, they can desecrate an area, and cause it to passively generate Chaos for them.   Mechanics: 3 Favor and a minimum of 30 points of Chaos are required to perform this Liturgy to begin with. If a Warlock’s Cult performs this Sacred Sacrament, each point of Chaos they have collected will spew out in a chaotic whirlwind before dispersing harmlessly at first. The effects of this spell aren’t immediate, but within a week, strange occurrences would begin in the region the Sacrament was performed. The land is greyed, and some objects float harmlessly in the air. Fires may never be put out animals may act like other animals and people may act in more chaotic manners. Things simply act in strange unexplainable ways.   Attacks made within the area have a chance to rebound on their user, every time a spell is cast, projectile fired or an attack made the creator of such must roll a 1d20. On a 1-3 the attack backfires, on a 4-6 the attack is redirected to someone/something else also decided by a roll, on a 7-10 the attack has no chance of hitting and on an 11+ the attack proceeds as normal.   Paladins may cleanse this area through forceful purging, or Clerics may perform spells to cleanse the land.
  • For every 10 points of Chaos beyond 30 a Paladin group or Cleric group must cleanse the land an additional time.
For every 1 IRL day, every Warlock in the Cult that created the Brokenland generates 5 points of Chaos passively.   Redlines:
  • An ET/LT must act as the DM for the performance of this spell.
  • The Warlock’s themselves are by far safe from this spell. As a rule of thumb, the released chaos effect will work on them as well.
  • If left unattened the CHoas will spread at a rate similar to demonic corruption.

[ Enslavement ]

Description: Enslavement is the second of the three Sacred Sacraments available to a Warlock Cult. This Liturgy allows a Warlock cult to enslave a being to one of the Warlocks present. Considered a vile Sacrament that has the potential to cause friends to turn on friends. This spell may not enslave gods or anything of that nature or greater.   Mechanics: This Spell must be cast around a prepared circle, with at least three Warlocks present to perform the ritual. Within their circle, they will place the creature they wish to enslave. The Warlocks must spend an hour in prayer to their Patron(s), chanting over the creature before their target would receive a brand somewhere on their body in a flurry of smoke and flame.   Only 1 Warlock present receives the ability to control the creature once the spell is cast. The Warlock establishes a telepathic link with the subject’s mind that works as long as they are on the same plane. If the creature has a language, the Warlock can generally force the subject to perform as they desire, within the limits of its abilities. If the creature has no language, the Warlock can communicate only basic commands. The character knows what the subject is experiencing, but does not receive direct sensory input from it. A subject forced to take an action against its nature must roll a 120, but if it succeeds (natural 18, 19, 20), it still remains the Warlock’s thrall despite its minor mutiny. Once a subject makes a successful saving throw to resist a specific order, it makes all future rolls to resist taking that specific action easier (natural 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20).   The Enslavement lasts for 2 IRL weeks before the subject is freed or the spell must be recast.   Redlines:
  • This spell must have the consent of the Player/ET if it’s used on an actively present character. This does not necessarily mean it’s the consent of the Character themselves, though it can be.
  • Clerics or Paladins may purge the effects of this spell, though a Warlock may make orders to prevent seeking one out or speaking of this enslavement.
  • (( Use of this boon to do anything in the slightest sexual or romantic will lead to a permanent ban from our Services. ))

[ Summon Thrall ]

Description: This final Sacred Sacrament allows for a Warlock’s Cult to perform a ritual in order to call forth their former slave now patron to their location. The chaotic rite requires the life of a living being before chaos ensues. This summoning requires a Warlock who has moved past the phase of master and thrall into one of partnership to create chaos.   Mechanics: This ritual requires four Warlocks - three to perform the ritual, and one to call the partner of. The Warlocks must sacrifice a living sentient being (character). Through the casting of this spell, the character will lose a life, and the single Warlock helps pull their patron through to the Mortal Plane. The three who perform this Sacrament must expend 50 points of chaos each (resulting in 150).   The powers of the Thrall are entirely dependent on what creature they are but they always bring chaos to the area around them. In physical might, they are comparable to a Darkspawn in their Greater Form - though their true strength comes in their heightened magic. The ability to form spells relating to their species or home plane, making deals, causing death outright, and true forms of chaos all come with ease to this newly created fragment of a Warlock.   Redlines:
  • An ET/LT must act as the DM for the performance of this spell.
  • The exact abilities and limitations of a Thrall are left for an ET’s interpretation. As a general rule of thumb, they are there to bring chaos, short-term and/or long-term.
  • The Warlock who is in a pact with the being maintains their power.
  • If the Thrall dies, the Warlock who summoned it also dies in a PK.

Summary

Warlocks of The Tyrant offer a range of spells and abilities that allows its users to create chaos from nothing and start conflicts. Due to their power and anarchy they bring Warlocks are often opposed by Paladins or people that believe in structure. Warlocks strive to create a world of sense in senseless for their god. They work to master spells of destruction and enslavement. In terms of general summarized redlines and other tidbits they go as follows:
  • Aesthetic actions, done in good faith in which no parties are hurt, and done in a way that makes proper sense, are completely fine. This could be a Warlock’s Thrall peering through a rift behind them.
  • Any spells that greatly affect the landscape, such as some Sacred Sacraments, require RO Consent if used on a region tile.
  • By attaining Witchdom, you are no longer able to gain any other magics. The only exception would be Feats which may be applicable to one’s race (E.q. Fel Flame/Golemancy).
  • A Witch must ensure to follow the proper guidelines outlined in the appropriate rank as for their physical form.
  • You may not cast a spell without properly practicing and researching said spell through RP means, whether this be via lessons from a teacher or going out into the world to study how the mechanics of such spell could be easily executed.
  • For the sake of moderation tracking, ease of access, and for one’s own benefit, it is highly suggested that the player keeps their persona’s Favor Value in their persona prefix.
  • Attempts to maliciously and knowingly powergame, loophole, or generally provide a low standard of RP with this and any other magic may lead to one’s MA being revoked.
