Alm Betjek/ The Saboteur of Denmaed

Not much is known about Alm Betjek prior to her attack on the court of Denmaerd There are little to no records of her existing implying that she lived simply and without tangling with authorities, likely she was a commoner who lived in Denmaerd and the treatment of sorcerers in her city became the catalyst for events.   On the 17th of Dilligence a soirée was held in the The Farrow Family's court, it was an elegant festivity of fine food, fine table setting and formal attire, as the guests flittered away the night dining, dancing and gossiping. Alm Betjek was sliding into the castle halls although the method on how she achieved this is largely unknown. As Lady Farrow stood up at the end of the table and rang her glass she addressed the guests, thanking them for a most splendid evening it was then that Betjek pushed her way to the front of the crowd. Nothing her tangled hair and common dirty brown farrier jacket, Lady Farrow paused mid-speech. It was then that Betjek began to address her demanding her to face on of her citizens to acknowledge the pain and suffering she had imparted upon the sorcerers of Denmaerd, stolen away in the night forced to live in fear. She asked Lady Farrow then, as she shivered in the court to acknowledge her suffering. Lady Farrow reportedly clicked her tongue before mocking the woman and calling for her guards. As she laughed Betjek became enraged, she clawed at her jacket ripping off the buttons and let it fall to the floor. She stood in the court steel-eyed and bare-breasted and revealed carved into her abdomen an intricate Blood Sigil. She howled as it set off, arcs of brilliant blue lightning erupting from the court floor and rippling out to the guests. Betjek had triggered a lightning spell intending to kill, guest fled tramping over each other, those caught by the lightning fell to the floor writhing. She then made contact with Lady Farrow as a strike of lightning caught her on her left side and wormed into her body and face. When the Carnage ended Betjek her skin freshly smouldering and eyes glazed fell to the floor seemingly dead. She had experienced Mana Recoil due to the technical intensity of the spell. Three of the Farrow family died that day and many more guests were injured but no more publically than Lady Farrow herself. From the strike her left eye went blind taking on a milky colour, she became deaf in her left ear and the electricity that ripped through her skin left permanent branching scars across her face, neck and shoulders. In the wake of the chaos the Lady's main source of solace was knowing the perpetrator is dead.   At least the thinks.   In truth, Betjek not only survived but was handed over to the Brotherhood of Tarn to be kept in their cells at the The Keep where she will be kept until confession

Aftermath

Reactions to the attack have been mixed between both the common people and the nobles. Some common folk upport Betjeks actions and are calling for the reformation of sorcerer laws, some in favour for more causes needed to be detained as a sorcerer and some calling for change to the entire system. Many commoners condemn the action as they are now afraid of retaliation and stricter laws, some sorcerers even feel the action has justified the laws to begin with and had re-enforced sorcerers a dangerous people.  Noble are concerned and th attack has for many strengthened their believe that sorcery is dangerously but for others also created a new fear that it could be used to disrupt social heirachy. Some nobles have started to consider the need for sorcerer reformation but most are far too involved with their own happenings to give it a second thought.
