Kasse Soren

Kasse "Magehunter" Soren (born Silumet 17, 1863) was an Adrausii infantry officer during the Desh Interregnum War who became a Division General during the Great War. Soren earned his infamous nickname during the Desh Interregnum War after managing to dismiss a Dium of the Imperial Court of Desh, before killing their mage in a duel. During the Great War, Soren would be named Division General by Queen Jaria un Rathenau after the successful Sereskalan Campaign against the Empire of Drausk in 1899 PE.  

Personal History

Kasse Soren was born in southern Adraus, near the borders of the Lorausii States. His parents were members equivalent to minor nobility in all but name, due to their large possessions of farmlands and ranches. Soren was the middle child of five siblings, and was very close to his older sister. Soren, for much of his youth, only knew of farm life and rarely traveled far from his family home. When Soren was 18, his oldest sister married a local Baron and military officer which granted his family minor noble status. This baron would eventually mentor the young Soren, allowing Soren to explore much of the lands of Adraus. Soren joined the military at the age of 19, with the help of his sister's husband.   In 1884, roughly two years into his commission, Kasse Soren, along with 20,000 Adrausii soldiers, were sent to the nations of Desh to assist the government in a civil war. Kasse Soren spent over six years fighting in Desh against Imperial troops, mages, and Drausk forces and assisting in preventing the complete collapse of the Desh monarchy. During this time, he received numerous field promotions due to his bravery and leadership, as well as participate in one of the last executions by firing squad performed by the Adrausii military. By the end of the Desh Interregnum War, Soren was promoted to Captain but refused the offer to return to Adraus and remained in Desh to help support the new government and train the new military.   Soren remained in Desh, serving as the Field Commander of the Colonial Forces until 1894, when he was requested back to Adraus by King Theoderich un Rathenau III. Upon his return, he was assigned, along with numerous newly promoted members of the military, to oversee the Great Reformation. His job was to oversee the training of new non-noble officers and conscripts in an effort to remove the classist leanings of the current military. Upon accepting this honor, Soren was awarded the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.   By 1897, Soren was serving as a high-ranking officer, mentor, senior strategist, and teacher at Fort Bulfaust in Eastern Adraus.
