Stone Giants
Stone Giants, sometimes called Earth Giants, are one of the five subspecies of True Giants, named for their stony appearance and elemental affinity for earth. They are the closest in aspect to their mother and patron god Gaia.
Stone Giants live in tight knit families often called tribes, they are a shamanistic people, with a strong connection to the earth and primal magic. Stone Giants also have a deep cultural appreciation for craftsmanship, particularly of objects carved out of stone and rock. These tribes are commonly led by the elder matriarch, who is usually an experienced shaman.
Stone Giants usually make their homes deep within mountain ranges, low amongst the base of the mountains. They will commonly have a community center filled with decoration and statues, with large self dug caves nearby that are used for shelter. Stone Giants live very simply, they are a wise people, who enjoy stories that they pass down orally. They are also one of the few Giant species to practice agriculture. Stone Giants are also known to raise their young community and tend to live longer than other giants.
Stone Giants tend to be peaceful, but incredibly private and isolationist, even avoiding contact with other giants. While they aren’t immediately aggressive to outsiders, preferring to avoid and even hide from them, they will attack those who get too close to their homes in an attempt to scare them off. Despite this, trade with Stone Giants is quite common, but it takes time to build up that trust.
Appearance
Stone Giants are commonly tall and lanky in build, standing around 25 feet tall. Their skin ranges in tones of grey, resembling that of stone, and their eyes also tend to be a light grey or silver. Stone Giants are completely hairless, with long heads and long limbs.
Stone Giants are known to chisel patterns into their skin like tattoos, these patterns are incredibly culturally significant, detailing achievements, family ties, and religious devotion. Stone Giants will usually first receive these markings when they come of age.
Sky Giants dress simply and sparingly, usually in simple fabrics, leathers and hide mixed together, leaving a lot of skin showing, particularly where there are chiseled patterns visible.
