Fire Giants

Fire Giants are one of the five subspecies of True Giants, named for their fiery appearance and elemental affinity for fire. Fire Giant clans are usually militaristic, and value craftsmanship, particularly ironwork and metallurgy. They are believed to be the most intelligent and educated of all True Giants.

Fire Giants commonly live in massive, well crafted, halls underground, usually near places of volcanic activity, where they build massive iron forges to craft their weapons and armour. They are often led by a monarch, usually a Queen, who is either the best warrior or craftsman, or both.

Fire Giant clans tend to have a strong hatred for outsiders, and are quick to declare war on nearby settlements. Because of this, areas where Fire Giants live tend to be avoided, and without anyone to war against, clan members end up fighting each other to prove their militaristic discipline and training. This leads to Fire Giant clans being incredibly tumultuous, filled with internal factionalism, and unstable leadership.

Appearance

Fire Giants are broad in build, muscular, and stocky, bearing a distant similarity to Dwarves. They are the shortest of the True Giants, averaging around 20 feet tall. Fire Giant skin ranges from an ashy grey to a sunburnt red, and their eyes are a molten fiery orange. Both male and female, have thick beards and flowing heads of hair, commonly colours of blacks and reds, with the oldest and most powerful Fire Giants having beards composed of burning flame. 

Fire Giants are often dressed in lavish, well crafted heavy armour, commonly made from a black metal. When not in armour, their clothing remains luxurious and well designed, crafted from flame retardant material. They also tend to adorn themselves with spoils of battle, such as dragon parts, and metallic decoration, from jewelry to minor pieces of armour, that are all intricate and masterfully crafted.
