Saraswati

Knowledge, Art & Wisdom

Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, learning, eloquence and the arts, a prominant goddess who embodies knowledge and wisdom while also presiding over academia, music, art and speech. She is a repository for sacred knowledge -contained in the book she carries- and is responsible for universal forces such as harmonious resonance and creativity. After all, it is her art and knowledge which inspires creation itself! For this reason, Saraswati is most equated to Lithmor, the element of light, who endlessly inspires humanity to better themselves as one of the Three Muses of the Erlithmanil. And much like Lithmor, Saraswati is known for her eloquence, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful, communicative language.

Brahma
Her husband is Brahma the Creator, Saraswati helping him to sustain dharma by using her tools of wisdom and art to inspire him and others. She is also mother to a number of entities, either biologically or by inspiring Brahma's Manasaputras, mind-born. Her own children include the Gandharvas (Sonildaz) who are celestial musicians, Himavan (Iska) the embodiment of Kunlun Shan, Riddhi and Siddhi who are the wives of Ganesha (Lothvem), and the progenitor of all mankind, Manu! Meanwhile Brahma's Manasputra include Daksha (Ilnid) -who fathered hundreds of goddesses- Adharma (Malok), Dharmadeva (Krithda) and the Four Kumaras ( Charnos) .

Depiction

Much like her husband, Saraswati's vahana is a giant swan which symbolizes discernment and the ability to separate truth from illusion. Saraswati is depicted as having four arms which represent the mind, intellect, alertness and ego, carrying a sistrum or veena (stringed instruments), a book, a lotus flower and a rosary.
