Ganesha

Success, New Beginnings & Wisdom

Also known as Ganapati, Vinayaka and Pillaiyar, Ganesha is a widely worshipped Deva, especially amid the Ganapatya sect. This is because he is a peaceful devi who removes obstacles and brings good luck, intellect and wisdom, promoting art, academia and science! As the god of beginnings, he is invoked at the beginning of rites and ceremonies or before the writing sessions of scholars. His blessings include success, prosperity and clarity of thought! Any Sanatanis undertaking a new journey, business or venture will invoke Ganesha. Tranquil and wise, he is popular in nearly every sect and sister religion! For all of his qualities, he is most associated with Lothvem and Kanilwyr! And as the son of Shiva and Parvati, his brothers include Kamadeva and Kartikeya--having a fierce rivalry with the latter.
