Session 8 Report

Within the magical walls of the Wild Magic Tables Casino, the party's adventure continues with the illustrious Garden Tour. A Magidrone tour guide soullessly points out magical plants and artifacts around the room. The party ponders over the enchanted Gras and wise ancient tree Oberon, who tells them a fun fact, giving them a boost to intelligence. With their increased cranium, the party journeys to Trivia Night and clean sweeps the competition without even making any bets. Afterward, thinking The Perfect Pitch will be a singing competition of some sort, they venture to The Surge to fetch Alloy and his new fishy friend James Pond. Entering the perfect pitch, they are faced with a panel of four judges: Fuchsia Blush, BABA ISDRONE, Gnoman Miller and Mark Cuban. They await the perfect pitch of an attraction for the casino! The party ingeniously proposes Elysia's next hit sensation, Musical Chairaoke! A quick vision of Mark Cuban dying to a Honda Civic later and the party finds themselves quite wealthy and retires to their rooms. In their rooms, they discuss cashing out and note something suspicions about the casino's operations over room service. When they arise, they head to the front desk to inquire about cashing out. A nervous magidrone points them in the direction of the Novelties Counter. Upon entering, Marilka has a strange vision of boats and lightning and hands and blood! Scary stuff! They spot the ticket to the VIP lounge with the hefty price of 40,000 chips. Daeran also catches a glimpse of a ship in a bottle on a high shelf behind the counter. Plugging the neck of the bottle is a glowing blue stone he recognizes as an Astendar Orb. The party suspects the ship to be the Astendar itself. Taking this discovery to its natural conclusion, the party goes to the... squints at sheet... Janitor's Closet. A sign barring guest entry doesn't stop the party from pushing through the door into a small closet with miscellaneous cleaning supplies and chemicals. A magical detection device crafted by Cedric reveals a small compartment behind a hatch in the back wall. Inside are strange magical components that seem to fashion together into some kind of voicebox. Separate from the various components is a Feenstein shard in a pouch that is quickly pocketed by Cedric. Realizing something strange is happening and their spells didn't seem to be working as intended, the party runs some experiments, casting spiritual weapon and alter selves from Brilliance, Marilka and Cedric. They step out of the Janitorial, discovering that the spells they attempted worked and disguised as Mark Cuban and Don Bomble. The Magidrones immediately clock the Don isn't real and fine the party 220 chips for impersonating the Don.

The party then heads to the Book Club hoping to find a Library to research the history of the Casino. There, they meet Katya Gatnom, leader of the Book Club and detective novel enthusiast. The party investigates the library, finding an ancient journal from Penelope, a student at Seid'dvari the Magical College, and a students guide to Seid'dvari. There they discover the existence of three extra floors as well as three extra rooms on floors one, three and five. Satisfied with their findings, they offer to accompany Katya to the Poker lounge.
