Book Club

A room located on the second floor of the library. Entering, it is a modestly sized room with many leather accent chairs atop a burgundy and gold Persian rug. The wooden floor underneath creaks as you walk (a high perception would discover it is designed to do so). The room is lit from the top down by lamps atop the bookcases along the white walls, casting light shadows onto the floor. Between some of the chairs, assorted drinks from the Cafe rest on coffee tables. The far wall is made to look like it is made of bricks, with an intricate tapestry of the silhouette of a girl reading a book under an apple tree. Garlands made to look like vines hang from the walls.

A low murmur can be heard from those in the chairs as some discuss what they are reading amongst themselves. A group has formed on the far end of the room beneath the tapestry. They discuss a book titled, "Kelvin 270." They are talking about the strange ending, where a foreign man escapes the flash freezing of a city in the far future, meeting a group gathered around a flame who accept him as one of their own. One of these people speak up, explaining how the ending is meant to show a hopeful future in the face of unspeakable tragedy and how the freezing of the city is the natural conclusion of their coldness toward those that are different than them.

Hanging around until the end of the meeting, the players meet Katya Gatnom. An avid bookworm who often leads the discussion of the Book Club. She tells them that the club just finished reading Kelvin 270 and are about to start reading a detective novel called "(waiting on reid's response)." She explains that detective novels are her favorites and they can come to her for any questions they have about the club or otherwise.
