Oasis
One of two merchant towns established as neutral territory between the Empire and the Alliance. The name Oasis is quite literal, as it rests at the juncture where the Dragon Tail River splits off from the Great Golden River. Worshipers of Echina consider the site to be sacred and often bemoan the presence of Alliance natives.
Demographics
While the town contains a mix of both Empire and Alliance natives, the majority of the population is from the Empire. Tieflings, Goliaths, Lizardfolk, and Orcs are most common, with a notable Dwarven population as well. In terms of wealth, most residents of Oasis live comfortably but not in excess. Though, there are a few notable residents who have grown rich off of the natural minerals found beneath the desert sands
Government
Like its sister-city, Final Respite, Oasis is considered to be an independent city-state. The town is officially run by the local militia, but Esop Flint has used the influence he gained by employing most of the town to assume control. Coincidentally, the captain of the militia is Esop's younger brother, Balor Flint.
Defences
The town's primary defense is the harsh desert terrain. The militia that controls the town contains between 75 and 100 fighting men and women, roughly 2/3 of which are Alliance natives.
Industry & Trade
The travelers and pilgrims going to and from the Serrin Mountains, bring endless opportunity for those wishing to sell goods and supplies. Glass, iron, copper, and sandstone are traded to other towns for food and grain.
